I remember the days when margarito drew some serious water on boxing boards....Everyone was ducking him, yada yada. I never thought much of him but truthfully I feel bad at the way he went out. dude was better than that, the cheating really defined him and put a lot of guys who supported him in a bad way.

Thing is, one cannot go back and change that sh11t. Cotto would have won that fight easy BTW. Cotto was just too nice and would not clinch. I don't think there is really any room for him. Maybe if he put some meat on and fought up a division... Ward for example.

Kinda comical how the emotional Cotto fans were quick to say things like "stop living vicariously through Marquez" to Floyd fans after he knocked out Pac but get upset when people bring up the fact that it was Pacquiao who injured and retired Margarito, not Cotto.

Cotto said exactly that in an interview stating he wouldn't fight a rematch with Margs because he wouldn't allow him to get a paycheck using his name. But apparently after seeing the beating given by Pacquiao, suddenly Cotto forgot as he knew Margs was handicapped and ready for him to get revenge. Somehow Cotto always gets a break fighting limited rivals as he did with Margs, Foreman, Sergio and recently he forced Geale to become a zombie. And let's not forget miguel won 3 vacant titles.

No fan of Marg's but in that 2nd fight with Cotto, watch it again and Marg was starting to come on and put in on Cotto when it was stopped. Cotto aimed at that eye all night to get him out of there because he did not want to go into the late rounds with Marg. Cotto has looked great lately but as I said before, I think it is party a mirage. Roach is far from a miracle worker and he is good at selective opponents. We will all know how "reinvented" Cotto is if he fights Canelo. If Cotto beats Canelo I will 100% come on here and say I was wrong and respect. But I do not see that happening. I think Canelo is going to beat Cotto up and stop him late. This is the same Cotto that fought Trout and the same Cotto that fought Floyd. Styles make fights.

Also regardless of what BS Marg pulled with his gloves, that has nothing to do with his chin. Cotto couldn't even dent Marg's chin, he walked through Cotto both times. Cotto knew that eye was bad and lasered on it all night so let's not kid ourselves.
