To me when you get to the top 3 pound for pound you can take that road since you proved yourself, but at this point of this career if he was that great he would take on all challenges, like Pac, Floyd and Ward early in their careers.

He'll continue to fight against tomato cans and casual fans will get excited about him koing them...

8min15 : Andre Ward is too much for me
so far i see him on the Jeff Lacy tip great at fighting bums and knocking them out. step up and hes gone.

i do admit he is better then Jeff but hes getting older and his prime is being wasted fighting bums and no one can argue that. now they cant even argue that no one wants to fight him you have ward and Lara wanting to fight him. only ******ed remarks and coments coming from GGG's camp about how he souldnt fight them. no money no one likes to watch them etc

Let Ward accept to be the B side and take B side money, under a million for the fight, fight outside of Oakland, and I am sure that HBO would say OK, we have a fight. If Ward was serious about fighting GGG, and getting his name right back up there on P4P lists and world rankings, he would take that deal.
      Wrong, totally wrong.

If GGG's team was sure he would beat Ward then that fight would make financial sense. The purse would not be that big, but crushing Ward would propel GGG into the top 5 pound for pound and make him a ppv star. His next fights would then make a ton of money. A huge win against Ward would be the biggest investment of his career. Before making 100 miiilons of dollards Floyd had to grind against Castillo/Corrales, Pac against Morales/Barrera.

The thing is, the fight doesnt make any sense financially for GGG's team cause they know he will lose, hence it would not be an investment at all for his next fights, they then chose to fight tomato cans and make ok money instead of taking risk to make huge money.

        Great post!

GGG went from "Ill fight anybody from 154-168" to "168 ppv fight only" & "Ward fight doesnt make financial sense" to "I want to unify" once Cotto beat martinez.

        • Didn't Ward say he needed a few tune ups before he fought GGG?
Then what is he complaining about?

And it's funny how everyone talks in boxing, but actions speak louder than words. Ward says he wants to fight GGG, but his actions say otherwise.

Just look at the opponents Ward has been trying to get approved for fights. Dimitri Sartison, Caleb Truax, Tommy Oosthuizen, Paul Smith. We're lucky HBO has turned these fights down, and it was BET who picked up the Smith fight.

          • I'd like to see Ward fight Kovalev as much as I'd like to see Golovkin fight Ward.
I'd also like to see Gennady fight/clean up the middle division as much as Andre has done at 168.
I'm still fascinated by posters that make excuses of why fights shouldn't happen.

I don't think Ward is the one who said that. Mainly imo the complaints are that GGG fanbase (not all) are being biased when it comes to GGG himself. GGG the "killer" that everybody is "ducking" is using the High risk/Low reward bs excuses.

Say what you want, but this is nothing more and nothing less that ward using GGGs name,in order to hype up his next fight. If he calls out GGG after he wins, then I'll take him seriously, but until then,he's just going to be blowing smoke, and continuing with his 2-3 Oakland tuneups.
                Pretty much sums it up.

You didn't actually address any of the points he is making.

                    • ward only gets about 40 comments when he's just talkin about something normal...but when he hurts the GGG fan's feelings..he gets 170...GGG has went from most ducked to doing a bunch of ducking himself
