This is Arthur Abraham and Lucian Bute all over again.
If that's the case, then BET should have record breaking numbers for Ward/Smith (but I'm guessing they won't).

Newsflash: people like action. Ward is not action.

Hey **** head go back to page 18 or 19! You highlighted the Haymon HBO thing I addressed that dumb ass. AND I QUOTE YOU ******** IDIOT

"So Jacobs, Quillen, etc.... ALL get called names like "coward" and "*******" for not fighting ggg even though they fight under (PBC, And Haymon) and they don't call ggg a coward for wanting to fight them and hiding behind HBO. But when Lara calls out ggg he is hiding behind Haymon? So which one is it?"

Where is Ward fighting his next fight on? HBO? NO. They had to buy their own time on BET because both HBO and Showtime rejected Ward's proposals to show his tune up fights. There is a big difference in giving the OK to fight Monroe at 350K and fighting Ward for what would probably be well over 5 million for his purse alone. It's not going to happen. Ward wanted 2 million each for three tune ups. What do you think he would ask to fight GGG? There is no audience for Ward and he wants too much money. A Ward - GGG fight is only viable as a PPV and at this point in time, even the townies in Oakland wouldn't pay to see it. When Ward has made his name again, then he will be a viable option. Until then he is nothing but a name from the past living on past glories.

Not to mention that Ward has stated that he will need at least two, maybe three, tune up fights before taking on a major opponent. For some reason, his fans always ignore this as if Ward would jump up and down if a GGG fight was offered.

Get it through your heads... Ward is no longer a major factor in boxing. He needs to fight at least two solid contenders and get significant victories over them before he becomes relevant again. And a 12 round, points decision is not a significant victory. If he does not knock out Smith in under 5 rounds, Ward should just retire and walk away.

Where did Khan fight his last fight? Where did Monroe fight his last few fights? Where is Thurman fighting his next fight? Isn't it Spike Tv, ESPN, and NBC. So fighting on a different network doesn't mean you can't make a big fight on a big network ******.

Khan and Thurman are being mentioned with Floyd and their respective last fights have not been on ShowTime **** head. Significant wins for Ward huh? Who is significant on ggg's resume? LMAO Ward would stomp out ggg 11-1 10-2 maybe even knock him out if he comes reckless.

The debate, or lack thereof and disagreement seems to be rooted in the statements made by Team GGG. In one video, they're stating that they want to fight Floyd, in another they're stating that GGG beats anyone from 154lbs to 168lbs.

            The issue with Floyd:
Floyd (as I stated) is contractually bound to Showtime and Haymon.
            - So, why mention Floyd if it is almost an impossibility to get the fight?

            The issue with Ward:
Ward responded to public statements by Team GGG and said that he would be willing to accept a fight with GGG if they can come to terms. Team GGG stated publicly, that Ward doesn't bring enough money (PPV) and they would rather face either Chavez of Froch.
            - Then don't issue such a vague inclusive statement if Ward is excluded!!

Like I stated before, I honestly don't blame GGG, but I do blame his team for stirring up BS publicly, that has very little opportunity of being fulfilled.
loeffler has been pretty consistent in saying that, for now (i.e. prior to unification), golovkin would only gain or lose weight for a pay-per-view fight. golovkin is a middleweight and would be at a disadvantage at 154 lbs or 168 lbs. that's not to say that he would necessarily lose to andre ward (it would be a 50-50 fight imo), but if he's to accept the size disadvantage, he would have to be compensated somehow. otherwise, it makes no sense for him to abandon several legacy fights and pay days that exist in his own division. it's fine for ward to want the fight, but he and his fans just have to accept that it's not top priority for golovkin and his fans (and hbo, for that matter)

nah. there's literally no chance that ward would stop golovkin - this isn't a drained mental midget like chad dawson. if ward were to beat golovkin, he'd have to make it ugly. golovkin has no problems finding a home for his punches at outside or middle range (his reach is only one inch shorter than ward's), so ward would have to take the fight inside and smother him. golovkin has shown in the past that he doesn't mind getting dirty if his opponent wants that, so i'd expect ward to take some punishment

As much as I do not like Ward, and as much as I feel his fans are delusional and live in an alternate reality, I have to apply the same rules to Ward as I apply to Golovkin. No fighter can duck a fighter from another division. So, no, Ward is not ducking Kovalev.

The fight will headline Roc Nation Sports' first televised event on BET.

During Ward's period of inactivity, his name was consistently linked to several potential fights. One of those potential fights would come against WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs).
