I know who Lara will definitely be better than....
      and that's Canelo.

Man that fight vs Mayweather was not even Espn Level, it look like Lara-Rodriguez out there, but instead of Rodriguez was Canelo who got outclass so bad I was feeling sorry for him.

Man this Canelo is the king of boring fights.

Canelo-Trout snoozer, the guy got tired half way into the fight, what a shame.

Canelo-Wayweather a total domination with no excitement from Canelo at all, even Mayweather have to move forward against this guy.

Canelo-Angulo The guy need the refs to stop the fight could not finish a damage goods boxer who came for a Check Boring ass fight.

Canelo-Lara Wow all the talk from the fans and Angulo put a better performance than this so call new face of boxing, hit the ropes more time than in the Mayweather fight. Can someone tell why people pay to watch him?

Canelo-Kirkland Finally, they have to bring an exciting fighter to make a show, because for all we know Canelo can't do it on his own.

One of the most boring stars out there. He think he is a boxer but he is slow and flat footer, think he is brawler but can't cut the ring, think he is a high volume puncher but have no stamina. But man he looks good against the heavy bag (for a short period of time) I will pay money to see him fight a heavy bag (for no more that 3 rounds, no stamina) That will be exiting, he is tailor made for bkb, but for boxing... no so much.

This^^^^^^^ I agree with! I'd love to see that fight, but it won't sell!

How it makes me laugh how fans push mismatches on us but don't try force legitimate 50/50 fights and make excuses about small fanbases and all that rubbish. All of a sudden they care about what fighters make.

Idc if Lara is a pretty basic southpaw you try dealing with a fleet-footed, defensive, southpaw counterpuncher with a world class jab, impeccable timing and accuracy. I don't care if your name is Floyd Mayweather Jr nobody, NOBODY born from their mother is having an easy time with Lara.
Yes he is basic, so is Floyd these days.

He beat Canelo, he beat Paul Williams from pillar to post, he beat Vanes, he has many other good wins. He has a ridiculous resume in so few fights. He is clearly #1 at 154 and clearly 20 times the boxer that Khan and Brook and Danny Garcia are combined.
Lara is the toughest fight out there, no two ways about it and as a boxing fan I want to see the 'TBE' vs the next best out there.

Lara has a lot going for him in this fight. His amateur pedigree being the biggest, he fought countless potshotters and masterboxers, guys with similar styles to Floyd and he beat them at the highest level.
          Make this fight happen.
Jesus stop it,please Manny was suppose to destroy Floyd and Floyd was "ducking" Canelo before these fights now it's on to the next? after Floyd beats him it will be the same old bull****

... lara is trying to lure some big money guys -- like Floyd, for instance...

It's really up to Mayweather. This thing about the fight not selling is nonsense. He's already rich. Why does it have to sell big? Put it on PBC and pitch it as his retirement fight.

Why not just fight the guy who ko'd Rodriguez 2 years ago and who is the lineal Middleweight champ?

If you want to see the fight then great. I wouldn't mind it considering his other options. But are you going to complain about it being boring?

I'd watch it - it would be interesting.

But casuals would just not be into it.

I really don't understand this Lara hype. Honestly, given the age and experience he has in boxing, he has shown that he is pretty much at around the same level as other good 154 lb. fighters. He never looks spectacular against good opposition, and seems to fight at the level of his opposition and really has no sense of urgency. The problem with Lara is that his fights with good opponents are close fights, and that's fine, but let's not pretend he is some great fighter.

Nonetheless, I would be interested in watching a Mayweather-Lara fight, since it would be very cerebral and a high skilled affair. Probably wont happen, since Lara is not a draw and the casuals don't know about him.

Again, Lara is a good fighter, but ultimately he hasn't really done anything to seperate himself from the pack. This is the same problem that a lot of the 140-147 lb. fighters have, that they fight just hard enough to get past their opponents. Hence why we don't really have any upcoming boxing stars. Hard to explain, but a lot of fighters just put enough effort to get by, and are complacent with this approach. But, in order to make the big bucks, you need a lot more.
