Beterbiev seems limited, definitely not as fluid as Kovalev. I wonder if Bernard before Kovalev would edge him over 12. I'd pick the old Chad Dawson to school him.

I'll bet you think Adonis is God. And one other thing.....where TF do you get your info? A wide margin. Mr/ Uninformed you are letting your imagination run with your mouth. I have friends and family in Russia. They know boxing and are familiar with this competition. Somone's recollection is not accurate and it isn't Krushers. You my friend are out of line. Russians take boxing very serious. As you can see their champions are courteous, professional and the best fighters in the world. (Eastern Europeans). That being said Kovalev beat him. But you would have to know what you are talking about to know that. Biev is good, but he is fibbing. I just think you don't like Eastern Europeans. And they speak English better than any US champ.Comment

If he goes rounds just to go rounds, then it's pointless. If he wants to go rounds he actually has to work in them. He has to figure out his style as a pro, he has to master the pressure style as a professional boxer. I know he has it in him, I've been watching him since before the 07 World Championships. So you think, "Oh he's going rounds that's good enough", NO he has to go in there to learn!! Not saying he has to completely change his style, but he has to adjust to the professional game. Maybe he is noticing things, that's why he sometimes let's his opponent work without him throwing anything, but it doesn't look good. That's the point of your early fights, to learn and adjust, not just go rounds without a purpose. We just have to wait and see how his future fights go and hopefully he's actually taking things out of these matches. He should try to stay active, right now that no super fight is in the horizon.Comment

Beterbiev didn't fight with a lot of urgency tonight, he knew his original opponent was gone and this guy was a stand-in. He took his time, won every round except the one he took off before dispatching the guy.Comment

Betterbeware has slow feet but his handspeed actually isn't that bad he shot some fast leads but he's not as technical or good as Kovalev.Comment

I think there's a danger of reading into one performance, people weren't saying this stuff after Campillo and Cloud and they have a far better pedigree than Johnson.

Not really his power would be the only chance he's got Johnson landed clean everytime he threw he just stood right in front most of the fight even was getting backed up rather easily.
Not sure what effort level that was guessing he wasn't all too serious about pushing on the gas pedal though.Comment

Cloud & Campillo were shot to hell when Beterbiev fought them. This was his best challenge tonight, Johnson showed movement, decent chin, and alot of heart. I think he's very lucky the Chillemba fight fell apart. I'd like to see him fight Edwin Rodriguez for a good litmus test.
I'm not reading too much into this fight.Comment
