The fight was on PPV in Canada; if HBO even added $1.5m to the pot, I'd be shocked.

I don't think the Ward fight will be made, but we will see Pascal-Kovalev II.

Andre Ward, in photo evidence, was already 173.5 nearly three weeks ago

Ward is heading back to 168, with Chudinov, Gilberto Ramirez, and the Brits willing to step up (with the possibility of even some of the Germany-based guys being considered); if PBC and RocNation are able to mend fences (since HBO is only seemingly interested in Cotto until the Canelo fight, with HBO not welcoming Ward with open arms), the options open up even more.

Kovalev has the Mohammedi fight in July, maybe a sellable rematch with Jean Pascal, and then ... nothing.

Fights with Isaac Chilemba and Sullivan Barrera , and then he's left picking at the bottom of the barrell (naear all of the rest of the fighters at 175 are either with PBC or in Europe, with domestic deals that pay far better than what HBO is likely willing to put up).

Duva is simply reaching for attention.

This is a really good fight. Makes so much more sense than GGG/Ward as Ward cleared his division out years ago and is now fighting at LHW and actually won gold at LHW.

Ward was ready to fight Froch in London, though outright refusing to fight him in Nottingham, Froch's literal hometown. Doubt that Ward ever goes to Germany, for the simple fact that there is an extensive history of fighters not getting fair decisions in Germany.

If the money is available, Ward gladly travels; the optimum deal isn't there yet (Jack-Groves still needs to happen, and Degale is still there). Ward vs Degale and Ward vs Degale/Groves winner, both in London, are fights that sellout the O2, with the possibility of being stadium fights.

Without HBO limiting his options (and the BET deal yet to be proven as viable), Ward is positioned for the biggest opportunities possible.

hahaha awww look at you reaching. PBC and rocnation are NOT going to mend fences. Also the only fight left for ward at smw is Degale. Other than that ramirez and chudinov are not necessary. He already cleaned out the division. Although I do agree, Duva is reaching. No way ward grows balls and decides to fight kovalev
