I hope so because he's rarely in a boring fight but his performance against Peterson wasn't promising.

Well he won't avoid mandatories, rematches, or fight at catchweights above the limit against lightweights so that puts him above his predecessor. Also, it's pretty clear he was stripped which says it all.

Then he went to the argentine version of "dancing with the stars" before the Chaves fight. By that time he was already super popular here. Martinez was very smart with the media and knew how to get the attention of people who wasn't into boxing.
