Great news. Looking forward to Matthysse vs. Postol.

I hope so because he's rarely in a boring fight but his performance against Peterson wasn't promising.

Well he won't avoid mandatories, rematches, or fight at catchweights above the limit against lightweights so that puts him above his predecessor. Also, it's pretty clear he was stripped which says it all.

How did Martinez get so popular anyway, the Chavez fight?
Well, Martinez has a lot of carisma and he is way more outgoing that the average of argentine boxers. He made a few TV apperances (an interview and a a sort of a stand up comedy performance) before the Macklin fight that made him very popular among casual fans. Then he went to the argentine version of "dancing with the stars" before the Chaves fight. By that time he was already super popular here. Martinez was very smart with the media and knew how to get the attention of people who wasn't into boxing.

He has to spend more time in the gym and less time tweeting half-witted proverbs. His career is in a funk, and it does not help that he's decided to "test "himself against Paulie.
