Man, I love fans who have no clue about the business of boxing. Canelo's people would be idiots to just have Cotto as plan A, B and C. Of course they are going to try and seem like they have many options, but we all know Cotto and Canelo need each other to get a maximum payday.

These are the games managers and promoters play to get leverage in these types of situations. My fear is that Cotto is going to demand a fight only in NYC, and that won't cut it for Canelo and the promoters IMO.

The best option would be Texas, since it would create a huge gate. Then Las Vegas of course which I think is where the fight will take place.

In the end, I believe Canelo to be the A side, and Cotto to be the A1 side. Both top fighters but Canelo can generate more money everywhere except NYC.

Then we have to discuss the weight....lol

This is what I think it will happen.

First of Cotto said in the Post fight interview 2 important things

1 - he will rest first and then talk business
- You know what this means. It means that negociations will pronably start around July - August so the September date is a Nogo
2 - The weight will not be an issue even if it is 155 but because he can he could push for 154

This will lead for the fight to be in November or December and in Texas.

The the money issue - The fight being in Texas means that Cotto's piece of the cake should be bigger. probably around 57% Cotto 43 for Canelo give or take ( 55-45 ) for Cotto. This will put negotiations on hold for a while.

Remember this is only my point of view playing the game of predicting the future.

Why take out his numbers with Floyd? Because his entire career is based off of Floyd, Cotto's isn't. Canelo was on his undercard for years. His debut on PPV was facing Floyd, again after being on his undercard for years. His best TV rating... Floyd/Manny was the opening for Canelo.

It's not like I didn't throw out Cotto's numbers either. I'm saying taking away the BIGGEST payday for both guys, let's see how they stack up. The reason Canelo fans don't want to do that is because the Floyd riding is the only way to justify Canelo being a draw or even capable of being an A side.

Now you mention that canelo was getting exposure on pbf undercard. Didn't cotto get a hell lot of exposure fighting Manny?? the whole margarito plasters drama all over the media, the accusations that pac might of used steroids vs cotto by pbf.

You have to accept that Canelo is the A side on this fight he brings the Mexicans on a mexican holiday if they are to fight in September. Even though i think is going to end up being a 50/50 split so cotto can fight and not ***** out. If Cotto wants more than that then he simply doesn't want it and acting like the diva he is.
