I agree that Wilder has the looks and the charisma to make it big, and his big punching style is tailor made for casual fans, but for whatever reason he's unwilling to test himself against quality opponents. I thought that the Stiverne win might have made him come out of his shell and allow him to realise that he has the ability to hang with the best in the world, but instead he goes back and fights the sort of bum that wouldn't have been out of place ten fights ago. It's just not acceptable.

Casual fans might not be the most knowledgeable guys in the world but even they can tell when you're knocking over stiffs, and that has only a limited appeal after a while. Wilder can definitely become a major attraction in this current heavyweight climate. Trouble is he wants have his cake and eat it. He wants to be a superstar without taking on the opponents that would allow him to shine.

He's talked about this before though, the other top guys don't want to go with him. And to be fair, all the top contenders do the same thing. I mean people are just talking up Joshua as the greatest thing in boxing history after he dominated the 65th ranked HW in the world. Fury just fought a tune-up for a fight with Wlad Klitchtsko by fighting Christian Hammer, the 23rd ranked HW. Right ahead of Malik Scott who Wilder KO'd in like a minute. Jenning's best win ever was Szpilika, rated 14.

People have to give Deontay a break. He fights Povetkin next..

Besides Wilder always talks that he still feels like a contender and has a lot of things left to accomplish. He wants to unify the belts, that's his goal and dream..
So you admit Wilder agrees with me on that. Thanks.

Not gonna happen my man. Even if you were the goods (I don't believe you are) America likes their heavyweights to either be larger than life personalities (you sure aren't that) or just mean, scary looking larger than life guys like Iron Mike. You look like an NBA player. You aren't scary looking to anybody.

IDK his ratings on Showtime are roughly equal to Wlad's on HBO. I think he will take off if he unifies..

Well, taking over after Mayweather and pulling in Wlad style ratings are not exactly the same thing. I'm not saying he cant be champ and make money, but being THE face of boxing seems like a stretch to me.

As opposed to whom? He won't be competing against Mayweather after Sep. Manny will soon be gone as well. Is he going to be eating the dust of guys like Kell Brook and Chocolatito?

I'm always wary when fighters use this line. There's almost always someone willing to fight you if the money's right. This is what these guys do for a living. Why does an utter nobody like Molina get the fight ahead of guys like Tony Thompson who have gone on record as saying they're more than willing to step up to the plate? Why is Wilder still acting like he's a fragile up and comer when he's already got the WBC belt?
