At age 29, Mayweather had done a whole lot more than beat a Bermaine Stiverne caliber opponent.

Take over from Floyd in what way?

Most people watch Floyd in the hope he gets beat.

This is what people aren't getting. A lot of these so called prospects are at their physical peak, in there blood late 20s.

HWs can blow up in popularity very fast though, of course they have to be good enough and I'm just not convinced Wilder is the goods.

The win over Stiverne was good but a win over Povetkin would be huge for his credibility.

Outside of the ring, Wilder has a lot of charisma, he's marketable.

If you look at most boxing superstars over the past several years, we knew that they were the real deal by the time they hit age 30.

He is going to need some big wins to do that, stop wasting time fight guys like Molina. He should have jumped right into the Povetkin fight to be honest instead of wasting time with Molina. Once you're Champion and you start making a name for yourself, you can't go back to fighting Easy Fights. You will not be able to fight a TBA on PPV so I hope these fighters understand that. If you not going to take on the very best don't waste your time trying to be a "Superstar" in Boxing

Although if he beats Povetkin that would say something but that doesn't surpass the dominance Klitschko has on the division.
this egomaniacal fantasy world broner thinking is in modern negro DNA. guys like archie moore Floyd Patterson were humble highly skilled fighters who never talked like that

You would actually have to put time and work in, not just beat up bums and expect the public to anoint you the second coming.

...unless you mean ducking the best and talking out your azz. A champ against a chump fighting a nobody. Boxing is now bull s**t. Too many Divas.
