Geez man what is he supposed to, go back and fight a prime Mike Tyson? Maybe take a time machine to beat up Joe Louis and Frazier? With a quick tune-up with Ali?

Guy can only fight the guys fighting now. He beat Stiverne, he already has a better resume than any other contender outside of Povetkin, who he will fight next. If and when he beats Povetkin he will be fighting for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world by age 30. When he started fighting at age 20.

Wilder haters are just sad. I have no idea why people have so much hate for the guy. Of course it will just multiply as soon as he beats Povetkin, who many around here think is a white Mike Tyson in his prime..

Yes because boxing needs knockouts not decisions. Gay weather is killing the sport.

A Mexican star, not yet comfortable to interview in English, and a 33-year old Eastern European fighter with hilariously bad English? lol, that'll draw in the casual fan that drives the PPV market.

Wilder coming to the table with his gifts (heavyweight, massive punching power, American, relatively young, charismatic, entertaining interview, photo friendly) gives him a great opportunity to be that guy; if he manages to beat Wladimir (40 years old come Spring 2016, 20 years as a professional fighter, suspect chin), Wilder launches into the stratosphere.

He takes over Kentucky Derby weekend (first Saturday in May), and keeps himself as busy as he wants to be, traveling the world for the biggest stages for his fights.

Yeah I just don't get how people cannot at least see the POTENTIAL for Wilder to be a mega-star. The guy has everything you need to be a big name. Plus he'll have some intriguing opponents with Joshua, Fury, Jennings, etc..

*Credibility of being a World Champion.

I know this sounds CRAZY in the era of boxing we're in but I got into boxing because of Ali and as long as there is a concensus champ in the Heavyweight Division I will not recognize any other belts or any other false champions.

I haven't seen Fury with a belt around his waist proclaiming to be "The World Heavyweight Champion" while Klitschko is around. To me Wilder is still a title contender.

I'm not saying the guy sucks or doesn't deserve credit for his win over Stiverne or anything but he isn't The Heavyweight Champion of The World.

Trust me if Wilder whoops Klitschko I would be going BALLISTIC with "AMERICA IS BACK BABY. WE'RE BACK ON TOP." I'm a huge supporter of any American that can become the Heavyweight Champion but so far Wilder isn't it and Tyson Fury has a hell of a mouth on him so I think he's hilarious. Seriously, I started watching boxing when there was no American HW champ and I really want it to happen.

Not really. Boxrec has Chisora, Fury's best win, rated 15. Stiverne is ranked 10. Wilder has a better resume..

Yeah I mean why would someone with the WBC World Heavyweight championship belt consider themselves a champion? That's just crazy talk to hold a world championship belt and consider yourself a world champion.

Besides Wilder always talks that he still feels like a contender and has a lot of things left to accomplish. He wants to unify the belts, that's his goal and dream..
