cotto canelo will beat anything mayweather does september 12 but their is something known as "professional courtesy" and Mayweather has earned that respect and I believe this is HBO paying respect.

Say what you want about mayweather, he done alot in this sport and deserves some respect in the sport to call shots and honestly he clearly has paid his dues to be able to do.

However these young dudes never respect anything till you humble em so I Fully believe Canelo to make an attempt and a hard push for the September date..

i think that if hbo decides they want a different date canelo will just have to take it as it is, if this fight is happening is because of hbo , and i think hbo owes some back to floyd after the pac fight, canelo knows this, he has a long term well paid contract to hbo and cant act like he is his own boss all the time... just sign the fight and make it happen...

Canelo needs to forget about fighting on his ****in Chi-Chi's holiday the real reason why it didn't happen earlier this year. Always focus on stealing the holiday but never has enough pull to do it he wanted to fight in May YET he couldn't wait 1 extra month to fight Cotto in June smh. I do agree Cotto/Canelo can compete against Mayweather/Khan in PPVS nobody cares about Khan besides brits and his loyal diluted fan base.

truth be told, I can't see a Floyd PPV being bigger than Cotto/Canelo on a Mexican holiday, unless it's Floyd v GGG or Floyd v Khan (with the UK broadcast rights being a big deal).

That Mexican holiday stuff means little. Not like they're counting PPV's from Mexico City. The powers that be won't go head to head with Mayweather because they'll lose out and they know it.

Mayweather could fight Rod Salka and outsell Cotto/Alvarez. Alvarez and Oscar need to realize that and quit this.

As long as this is the next fight for both, I don't care when Cotto/Alvarez happens. October or November is fine.
