How am I implying they are slip images of each other. Has anyone actually watched Pavlik and Kovalev. Both are big tall fighters, both rely on their power and much of their game comes from a straight which Kovalev leads more with while Pavlik often used the jab more although slow. Both aren't quick punchers. Yes not exactly alike but both Aggressive, big punchers but physical attributes they take advantage of Pavlik did so with his height while Kovalev is doing it with pure size. Both big but if Pavlik would have fought at Light Heavyweight he would have been just as fast (my opinion) with less power but yet not to be trifled with.

If it's a p4p thing and they are the same size, I will roll with hopkins..

But if kovolev 2014 met hopkins 1997 at 175 and had the size, I like kovolev by decision..

Hopkins wouldn't take the risks needed to beat kovolev..

Maybe but Past prime 160 hopkins couldn't get past taylor in 2 chances..

Kovolev is much more skilled and dangerous than pavlik, pascal, Tarver, taylor...

I just see hopkins neutralizing the attack but not taking enough risks or getting off enough shots to outpoint kovolev...

Any in hopkins "prime" he never beat anyone of note...

Hopkins was a nobody until he beat tito, a blown up welter...

Dude was getting draws vs mercado, and looking for an out vs allen...

Kovalev would probably stop Hopkins in his prime. A prime Hopkins wouldn't let Kovalev beat on him like that but that'll be his down fall. He would open up more and be TKO'd for his troubles.

Hopkins was never some master boxer. He feasted on pretty decent comp but usually lost when he stepped up. I see nothing is a prime Hopkins that would prevent him from being dropped several times by Kovalev.

Lol... No version of Hopkins beats Kovalev. Sergery has the jab/skill/speed/athleticism/size/power to give Bernard hell. And oh, also the mean streak if Hopkins ever felt like getting dirty, or taunting, like in that 12th round where he nearly got his head taken off.
