Ali did not need tune up fights after being out for three and a half years. Leonard did not need tune up fights after fighting once in five years and came back directly into a title fight. Mayweather did not need tune up fights after coming back from retirement. There are many other examples to be found of champions coming back after longer layoffs than Ward straight into a major fight or a title fight.

But Ward needs two or three tune ups? Seriously? Guess he really is not the fighter his adoring fans claim him to be, is he?

That would be all well and good if Team Golovkin actually wanted the fight....which they don't.

Froch is the only top tier fighter who made a play to face Ward on his comeback.

You are trying to compare Smith with Bonavena and Quarry? SERIOUSLY??? Ali fought Quarry, Bonavena and Frazier in the space of FIVE MONTHS!!! After a THREE AND A HALF YEAR LAY OFF!!! Ward signed with RN back in JANUARY and has yet to fight ONCE!!!
