I know, just wish we had a timetable to see when Kovalev/Beterbiev could become a possibility. I've already given up on Adonis/Kovalev because Adonis is getting older and probably won't be fighting much longer. I can see Adonis losing to Beterbiev and Beterbiev/Kovalev becoming the new match-up to make, assuming that Kov continues his winning ways.

Beterbiev will KO Chickenson and then that will set a russian hoedown between Kovalev and Beterbiev. I think Beterbiev is a better fighter TBH. But JDJ is a great trainer and he is good at letting his fighters out the cage.

Definitely Beterbiev-Kovalev for FOTY. It's like to put two LHW's Golovkin fighting each other. Beterbiev has more stamina and power but Kov got the experience and technique.

As someone already mentioned Kovalev is the one stuck in a difficult position, unfortunately. Haymon has most of the top Light Heavyweights. Beterbiev will soon be the mandatory for the IBF and thus forcing Kovalev to vacate since he won't fight outside of HBO. Who knows maybe they'll allow Beterbiev to fight on HBO.
It seems like GYM doesn't want Beterbiev to beat up on Stevenson, idk why it's not like Stevenson has much more to offer. But I'm just making assumptions here, they might build it up a bit.
You'll never see another Al Haymon fighter on HBO again.

That would be like Coca Cola sharing its trade secrets with Pepsi... because the consumer is asking for it.

Kovalev had a choice. He chose the safe route. Can't blame him. Stevenson did too. So did Beterbiev. About time the HBO nuthuggers dropped all that "warrior, anytime anywhere" BS.

Stevenson has the WBC, Beterbiev is two fights away from likely getting the IBF, and all that leaves in getting Alvarez positioned for a shot at that WBA belt (WBO being in on that Golden Boy lawsuit, acknowledging politics, likely cuts down that route); having that Montreal money in hand, with Showtime/PBC as US TV partners willing to invest in rights fees, is damn near checkmate.

Kovalev, likely as early as Spring 2016, could be down to only the WBO belt, with no fights that anyone could honestly get excited about looking towards, lol. Have fun with that.
LOL yea this is effed up for Kovalev. I can't believe that HBO deal is all that great with the reality of the division as far as potential opponents for Kovalev. Its pretty much gotta be Kovalev vs Andre Ward or there isn't anything to get excited about at all except a Pascal rematch, but that wasn't all that competitive while still being a fun one to watch.

Kathy Duva woulda been doing better by Kovalev to deal with PBC despite her Haymon & apparently money phobia. Mostly though I feel bad for Kovalev cuz he's the guy who's gonna be losing his prime fighting bs guys, is the guy taking the punches to the head & hoping Ward gets fatter while surely making less money than he'd have been making fighting the stockpile of PBC guys on national TV & having a superfight with Stevenson & potentially Beterbiev for NICE $$$$.

We never know, brother. Anything can happen, but you're probably right.
These fighters chose what they felt was right for their careers, which is the MONEY!! So it's ridiculous that people act like they are ducking each other. However Beterbiev vs Stevenson must happen, there is nothing stopping it. It seems GYM doesn't want to feed Stevenson to Beterbiev, I mean Stevenson is going on 38, what more does he have to offer? Obviously doesn't have to happen now, but hopefully it happens next year, if Kovalev and Stevenson can't get anything working.

Kovalev is the one that will struggle to get fights, so Duva will have to do something about it.
Beterbiev vs Kovalev is the fight they should be hyping up for later 2016 or sometime in 2017. While Stevenson is fun to watch, he'll eventually fall to one of them.

I'd assume they make Beterbiev vs Stevenson, but not til Beterbiev has gotten a title (assuming the one Kovalev will vacate to avoid fighting off of HBO after Duva loses a purse bid or refuses to participate in one). Nowadays when you got two high level guys, which I believe both Beterbiev & Stevenson to be, but not quite superstars, you almost can't make that fight for its maximum impact without both being title holders since the thinking seems to be if you don't have one of the numerous titles you obviously aren't as important in your division.

pbc has made some interesting moves such as having the battle of ohio in vegas, having lara fight in chicago, having carl frampton fight in el paso, barthelemy vs demarco in vegas, but what they do have is a lot of fighters who are willing to go fight in strange places in front of no crowd.
