It's why GGG openly said Ward is not an option, because he isn't worth the risk/reward. Guess what... that's the same duck excuse GGG and Canelo give about GGG. Life's not fair #dealwithit
    This.

GGG makes money, just not as much as Cotto thus Cotto holds the cards. GGG ain't fighting Ward cuz he gots a better option in winnability & in money vs Cotto. Cotto is doing the same **** as GGG in that regard. Personally I think Cotto loses to GGG & Canelo, but Canelo is the fight that pays more money thus Canelo it is lol. This is some basic **** people & both guys are doing it & will do it in the future cuz thats how the boxing business game works.

these guys are not fighting golovkin for the same reason that charley burley and sam langford never got to fight for world titles. are you okay with that too?

the ward fight won't happen before golovkin unifies the middleweight division because hbo literally wouldn't be able to afford it. the fight's ratings simply would not cover the combined purse. if roc nation are willing to make up the difference, then the fight can happen. if not, ward will have to wait until golovkin has finished business at middleweight. i want to see that fight and i believe it will happen at some point as long as ward doesn't move to light heavyweight
Yeah, I didn't read it I've heard all the excuses already. Have a nice day.

      • This thread is really a sad, sad read. To think that people call themselves fans of boxing and yet is coming up with terrible excuses to justify Cotto's blatant ducking of GGG.

        Horrible.

so you are just a fanboy after all. probably puerto rican too, which somewhat proves my point about cotto's greatest asset being his ethnicity

Of course you will laugh, because your boy got off, let himself off the hook and saved himself from a true beat down. Golovkin would drop bombs on Cotto and knock him cleannn out in 5 rounds. Everyone knows it. And you as a fanboy will laugh when he vacates to try and mask the fact you know you support a drama queen ducker and everyone is laughing at ya boy.

            • after canelo-cotto, golovkin has next. he's clearly the third biggest draw in the division and the only man who can legitimise cotto or canelo as a real middleweight champion. if the winner of that fight still refused to fight golovkin, it would be indefensible. so why won't cotto make a deal?

in the mean time, golovkin can either raise his profile with a froch fight or continue to clean up the middleweight division. the reason a foray into the super middleweight division against froch is viable right now but not a ward fight, is that a froch fight would take place on pay-per-view, in the uk if not in america. this isn't about golovkin trying to fill his pockets (considering he would likely not get much more against froch or cotto than he did against monroe jr), it's about the network and promoter being able to afford the event in the first place. ward got $2m to fight rodriguez; he will obviously want more for a fight he could potentially lose. so let's say $3m or $4m. golovkin brings just as much money to the table as ward, if not more, so he will want parity. that's $6m-$8m between the two of them for a non-ppv fight. it's not going to happen... yet

No, I'm not a fanboy. I understand boxing revolves around money, when people understand that they will simply know why all this happens. $$$ that's it.

Canelo and Floyd offer more money to Cotto than GGG. (So he'll fight them first.)

You think it's nuthugging because I say "They'll go where the most money is?" You crying like a b*tch over it is hugging, I'm just dealing with the reality of the situation. You're just unhappy with it... I used to be, I learned no amount of b*tching on a forum is going to change it. You and Barcham keep the good fight lol.

i don't have a problem with the cotto-canelo fight happening first. i want to see that fight too. my problem (and the reason i entered this thread) is that cotto apparently won't fight golovkin next year even if he beats canelo. there's no way you can defend that

but the blame primarily rests with the wbc. it's not cotto's job to make sure golovkin gets fair treatment, but it is nominally the wbc's. they already ****ed up by permitting cotto to have two mandatory defences in a row this year. they should be kicked out of the sport. if haymon wasn't just as bad as the others i would be rooting heavily for pbc

Reality isn't an excuse. The reality is boxing is more of a business at the elite level than a sport today. There can be like 6+ champions, 6+ belts in every division. The sport is a cluster**** these days due to promoter rivalry's, alphabet groups & TV channels powerhouses. There isn't much nobility involved in the sport at this level these days. This ain't your daddy's or grandfather's boxing regardless if you want it to be or not.

The problem is that these so-called fans, like eater of ass, is using money as a reason to justify this duck. I look forward to see all these guys defend Brähmer, Sturm, Abraham etc., when they keep defending in Germany.

They will never visit those threads though. Why? Because they are not boxing fans. They are Cotto-stans.
