No voluntary in between, no rematch in between, no fight at another weight class in between. Whoever wins fights Golovkin NEXT.
Why is Cotto so against giving that guarantee? He claims in interviews that he would 'possibly' fight GGG after Canelo, so why not make it official? What is stopping him? Why do his fans try to invent excuses for him not to give that guarantee? Cotto is not Floyd. He knows how to read and how to sign his name. There is nothing preventing him from signing an agreement that obligates him to actually live up to the obligation he is avoiding by fighting Canelo in the first place.
There isn't a set of balls among the entire bunch of them!

but the blame primarily rests with the wbc. it's not cotto's job to make sure golovkin gets fair treatment, but it is nominally the wbc's. they already ****ed up by permitting cotto to have two mandatory defences in a row this year. they should be kicked out of the sport. if haymon wasn't just as bad as the others i would be rooting heavily for pbc

Martinez - Dibella said "GTFOH no way we fight that monster"
Sturm - ducked GGG for years
so please enlighten us all as to the high profile "step-up" guys that GGG is ducking?
and as for the f^ck-all difference" you talk about, that difference is that Cotto is the lineal middleweight champion. That carries with it the obligation to defend it against the best challengers.
I know, its easy for fanboys like you to defend this garbage when its your idol doing it.
And FYI, should GGG go to 168 and try drying guys down to 164, I'll be the first one here calling it bull****......
It would be Golovkins best win.
I dont buy the " everyone is ducking me " excuse, that is bullshht.
Golovkin called out everyone from 154-168, now we can see that was hype.
Golovkins best win is Geale, despite fighting at MW for 9 years.
Cotto equaled that win, after fighting at MW for 5 minutes.
Haven't you been around too long to fall for marketing hype like that ?
Surely Golovkin could have crafted a better resume to date, he is clearly very well-managed, and is clearly not moving very fast.
BTW, I like Cotto, but he is nowhere near my favorite fighter, and I dont get "invested" like others do on this site..... I definitely agree that Cotto should fight at 160 or drop the belt..... but he is a legend, so he can fight whoever he likes..... Canelo is obviously next.
The lineal " title "is rubbish..... the lineal "champ" is just the man who beat the man, and nothing more..... the last 5x CONSECUTIVE lineal middleweight champions were NOT the best fighters at 160 when they were ranked.
There is no "obligation", with "lineal"..... you made that shht up
Who, in your opinion, is currently the best light-heavy?
Come on man, you have been around too long to get hung-up on worthless accolades..... maybe it was relevant once, but not now.
Actually, it was not even relevant back in the old days, we did not have a lineal champ, because we had a real champ..... the additional ABC organisations created "lineal"..... I dont take any of that shht seriously because I know who the best fighter is/are in each division.
The WBC title should be more relevant, than a passing of the torch lineage..... but the WBC dont rank Klitschko in their top-10 at heavyweight..... so why should I take them, or any of those asshat organisations seriously?
I know whats up, I dont need them muddying the waters within boxing for a sanctioning fee.
You are an insider, so there are legal/professional issues for you to consider..... I am an ex-fighter/fan, I dont give a fcuk about a worthless ABC body who cares more about sanctioning fees than they do about the fighters.

Sure, so..... you are ready for Ward, but your best win is Geale..... sure kid ^^
I heard this exact same shht from Bute !
Bute was undefeated and had a shht resume filled with underwhelming opponents when he started mentioning Ward
If Golovkin could beat Lara, I would take him more seriously.
I stand by the post below.....

Can you say..... complete and utter schooling.
Can you say..... exposed !
Can you say..... hype gone, all of it..... in just 1 fight.
AND, Golovkin would have nothing left to fall back on, because he does not have a resume and is not a draw.
I can see exactly why they dont want none of Ward
Team Golovkin are doing an outstanding job of managing Gennady's career.
Chavez doe, Froch doe

The unification was at BEST put on hold to cash that Froch check potentially. Like I said, they want money not unification. They're just saying they want to unify to continue to let GGG beat up on a weak division full of smaller fighters than GGG.
What's this **** about a weak division of smaller fighters. Now you're talking b*ll*cks. The division isn't the strongest - most people admit that - but smaller fighters? GTFOH!
