It would not be difficult for GGG and his team to pursue this in court to force WBC to enforce their mandatory. They could easily get an injunction preventing the Cotto - Canelo fight from being sanctioned. This would put the WBC in a very bad light and the bad publicity would erase the good steps they have been making.

I doubt WBC will allow things to go that far. They will force Cotto and Canelo to sign a guarantee or they will strip Cotto of the title.
You think Cotto needs the WBC ?

GGG can fight for the WBC if he so likes next, only he won't be facing Cotto, he'll be facing some other scrub like Heiland or Johnson lol. The WBC ain't stripping Cotto and Cotto is fighting Canelo on PPV, yknow the entity GGG is so desperate to break into ? He ain't getting ppv vs Heiland.

This posturing by GGG is becoming tiresome, if you're knocking out guys who weigh a 180+ come fight night you shouldn't be targeting opponents who weigh in at 153 on the scales.

If GGG wants a ppv, why not have his promoters put up the money to Froch, the guy was p4p no.8 as of late.

Martinez cashed out and that's fine I can respect that but to act like that wasn't the case is being flat out blind. Floyd isn't getting a shot at that belt because the only agreement golovkin is going to make is involving canelo because he knows Floyd will not fight him and he's not about to get into another eliminator race for a belt he's earned a shot at.
This right here, I concur he does. He could target Lee, Lemieux, even Froch, but he's targeting the smaller junior middles for a reason, easier fights plus bigger paydays, can't blame him, but if he don't want a serious challenge I can't take him serious.

GGG don't want to unify, he wants the money and fame that comes with fighting Cotto. If he were so high on unifying the MW division he would go after the other titles as a matter of fact isn't one of the other titles vacant right now. He grabs another title while Cotto/Canelo is sorted out **** he should be begging to get on the under card of Cotto/Canelo verses a live dog and steal the show that night.

i like cotto but his fans got their head stuck up his ass, GGG would murder cotto thats why yall dont want to see your idol get his career ended. Cotto is a ***** if he is the WBC MW champion and doesnt want to fight the best fighter of the division, and im all for him facing canelo first but the winner fights GGG mandatory.

he sent an offer to lee and said he wants to fight the winner of ndam-lemieux. how is that not going after them? the ibf doesn't rank other champs so he couldn't fight for that vacant belt.

As it stands, there's no pressure for the Cotto/Canelo winner to face GGG even though he's the mandatory. Somehow, GGG is in the wrong for wanting a guarantee that the winner will face him next. We've seen mandatories and #1 contenders get fucked over again and again. GGG already had to deal with that earlier in his career with Sturm, and I doubt he wants to waste that sort of time again.

Did you just stumble onto this site, because it doesn't seem like you know verry much about how this sport works. The title that is vacant right now is being fought for between lemieux and some other fighter, and the wbo strap belongs to Andy Lee,who wants no part of GGG. That leaves the lineal belt, which belongs to cotto, and who s mandatory just happens to be golovkin. See the way that mandatories work is that the champion can get a voluntary defence, but afterwards he has to take care of his mandatory. Geale was cottos voluntary, so if canelo-cotto where to happen,GGG would have to take a step aside fee. If GGG wanted,he could ask for something ridiculous like 10 million to step aside, and if cottos team declined that amount,GGG would just impose his mandatory status, cotto would get stripped, and ggg would fight someone else for the vacant belt. So if cotto wants to keep the belt, and fight canelo in the fall,he'd better offer GGG a nice check with 7 digits on it.

From the amount of brilliance you express in your posts, I assume that your avatar is a self portrait?

You do realize that there is an offer out to fight Froch and Froch is yet to respond, don't you? There are threads about it here on the board if you would bother to read them. As for Lee, he is busy but is a worthy opponent as will be Lemieux if he defeats N'Dam and wins a title. It is difficult to fight people who already have fights coming up. Not that you actually follow the sport to be aware of what is going on.

But in this case it's not just the belt. It's the name, the stage, the ppv headline and everything that comes with fighting Cotto.

If they keep playing hardball, he will fight for the vacant title against Heiland or Johnson. Yeah he'll have the belt but he's still at a stand still.

In other words, GGG should keep doing what he's doing until Cotto/Canelo FEEL like fighting him (if that ever happens). GGG should pretend like Cotto/Canelo don't exist in the mean-time, right? I guess we'll see what's more important to GGG in this fiasco. He's firmly on the B-Hop path right now.
