Comments Thread For: Robert Guerrero Dropped, Escapes With Split Nod

StubHub Center, Carson, California - Robert Guerrero (33-3-1, 18KOs) had to get off the deck to win a ten round split decision over Aron Martinez (19-4-1, 4KOs). The scores were 95-94 for Martinez, 95-94 for Guerrero, 97-92 for Guerrero.

Martinez started fast and was getting off with good punches on Guerrero, who stated the fight slow and started coming back with punches of his own in the third. Martinez shocked the entire venue when he started battering Guerrero in the fourth round and dropped him. The fifth was closer with Martinez landing the better shots.

I want the Geurrero that mugged Berto and Selcuk back. I'll chalk this one up to being lazy...

Good show from Aron, I would watch him again.

Guerrero made that harder than it should've been, I had him edging it 95-94.

To be honest he's never been elite. That's how he always looks. Even against katsidis or aydin type fighters he always took a lot of punishment.

His most notable win is freaking andre berto for ****s sake.

I said this after the Thurman fight.

I thought being outclassed by Thurman would surely make everyone see that Guerrero sucks, but my worst fear came true.

                  "He was so brave doe!"

What the ****? Did that make everyone experience mass hysteria? How could the Guerrero hype still exist? I originally thought the Kamegai fight would do it, but nope. People still think he's a top welterweight. What's going on?
I hope people finally acknowledge Guerrero sucks. It shouldn't have taken these many fights for people to figure that out on their own. I've been feeling like a madman telling everyone this, but people been living in some alternate reality.

Whoever decided to air this fight at noon west coast time needs to be fired. No wonder nobody showed up, empty arena. Not a good look for PBC and the ghost stunk up the joint to a complete bum.
