Yes and no. You think a guy like Rod Salka is going to pass on a Garcia fight just because he doesn't like that CW? He'd likely never get the chance again. Same with Geale. A chance at the lineal crown after getting destroyed by GGG? Hard to pass up on. Maidana having to change gloves the day before his fight with Mayweather? Gets paid the most money in his life just to switch gloves? Pretty hard to turn down when you're not rich.

But I agree they shouldn't really complain though once they sign the contract, at that point it's on them. That doesn't mean the A-side isn't being a diva though either.

Cotto fought a one legged Martinez, and Geale is at 157 catchweight even though Geale hasn't weighed less than 158 in years

It seems like the last few years, he waits to put his priced pupils in with big names when they have shown vulnerability or suffered draining fights or he simply drains them at the scales before the fights
"Your not Oscar, your too good" (After Mosley asked why they fought Oscar at 147, but are not willing to fight him(Mosley) at 147, also at one point Mosley offered to be weight drained to 140, but Pac and his ***** team were still too chicken)

I hate roach and agree with what you're saying but after you make the same thread ten different ways its exhausting. I get it, roger should have all those awards for the great work he did with Laila ali.

I believe Shane said 142, he was crazy enough to do it I'm sure!

They couldn't go wrong either way, both Cotto and Mosley were title holders and Cotto was with Top Rank so naturally Bob Arum wanted the in-house fight first.

Plus at that time they still weren't sure about 147. Pacquiao just fought Ricky Hatton at 140 and the thought for a bit was to fight there for a while, but the bigger names were north. They wanted to test the waters at welterweight and probably chose who seemed to be the physically smaller fighter in Cotto, and of course he was with Top Rank, more popular too and of course beat Shane Mosley. The 145 CW was pointless though. In hindsight we all obviously know Pacquiao was fine at welterweight but at that time no one really knew, many thought he was too small for the division (I mean he was at 130/135 just a year or so prior).

                I call a spade a spade

Anyone who followed boxing then knows that Mosley begged for a fight when he was still in good form...it took a loss to may weather and draw with Mora for him to accept the fight not at 142-143....again after the opponent was beaten n unimpressive

This is for their nuthuggers not their fans littlemac

Newsflash...PAC n roach fans aren't immune to criticism
