The eye injury was actually from the Vivian Harris fight, the "punch" Danny landed was more of a sc**** across it giving rise to swelling. It was swelling up again against Provodnikov.

Maidana can, if he stays hungry, he can possibly beat every welterweight besides Mayweather right now. I was trying to tell people that Pacquiao does not have the weird subltle skills that Maidana possesses. The only way to beat Maidana is if you attack his body unmercifully.

Maidana defence is very underrated, it's much better than Pacquiaos, Broner, and especially Matthyse, who was getting hit clean by slow punches from Prod.

Maidana can fight moving backwards, slip and roll punches and he has an excellent jab.

Where in my post did I say Maidana is the bigger puncher? You're smoking Matthysse's pole. Pass it to one of the other clowns who voted Matthysse.

Matthysse may punch harder with a single shot -- which is debatable but makes sense because, after all, his punches are straighter -- but Maidana knows how to land more bombs.

Maidana is hurt just about every fight. He has been down 5 times in his career. Matthysse has been down once and he wasn't exactly knocked on his back.

And note that Matthysse has faced the better opposition and the bigger punchers.
