Cotto's a bum but yet the third biggest draw in boxing, yea ok. If you hate Cotto so much be sure not to tune in for his fight tomorrow.

If it wasn't for Cotto's fan base, people wouldn't care about him at all and he would have fallen into obscurity with him failing to win big fights.

In your opinion, who is more egotistical? Cotto or Mayweather?

If it wasn't for his fanbase, people wouldn't care about him at all? That's one of the most insightful comments I've ever read...

                1) Mayweather fought Canelo at a CW. It wasn't as applicable to Mayweather in a Cotto fight but when he had a genuine size disadvantage against an opponent(Canelo) he used a CW despite speaking out against that idea before the Cotto fight.
                2) Cotto didn't come in last against Martinez.
                3) If he was willing to fight Cotto with MX gloves then why not Maidana?

Miguel has no excuse doing what he's doing now.
Mayweather also said when he fought Cotto that he wanted to fight him at 154 because he wanted him "to be comfortable" and then criticised Pacquiao for taking him down 2 pounds in their 2009 fight(before then taking Alvarez 2 pounds south of 154). You say that Mayweather is absolved because all these other fighters were willing to go to a catchweight for the payday. So were Martinez and Geale for Cotto. They can criticize the catchweight all they want but if they sign the contract then they're just as much to blame for it as Cotto is.

The popularity was achieved by winning titles in 4 weight classes. I don't care how many advantages he's had throughout his career, he's not even close to a bum. If you genuinely believe he's a bum you either don't like him and are too emotional or you don't know **** about boxing. Take your pick.

Just because you're a draw, doesn't make you a great fighter. Look at a guy like Chavez Jr. who is a prime example. He's a horrible fighter yet he's easily a big draw and draws huge ratings and look at a guy like Andre Ward. He has virtually no fans yet he is p4p top tier talent. Popularity and talent are two different things.

Just because they're two different things doesn't mean Cotto, a 4 weight world champion, is a bum.

Its a question of ego/resume proportion. Floyd is a prick, but at least he has a very good resume, on the other hand Cotto has a lot of losses, and a pair wins over one legged and one eyed fighters. Cotto = Charlie Zelenoff
