This would require the creation of a SUPER Heavyweight division to accommodate the current HW fighters.

A much better idea would be to return to the original 8 weight classes and to eliminate catchweight title fights.
Mayweather never blew up in weight in any division

Bullshyt. People on this board have this fairytale imagination when it comes to weight. The guy is still going to be much, much larger than Cotto and you can't pretend that doesn't count for something. The effect is has on his stamina and strength are things we don't know because it affects each fighter differently, each time they do it. In mma there's belt holders that cut 15 to 20lbs for a weight in every fight in and come to fight in stellar shape. The methods these days are much more measured and successful than they used to be. Fans and haters just love to clutch onto that weight drain excuse though!

Exactly. It says more about these so called "fans" who cannot ever seem to give a fighter they hate, ANY credit. Talk to them about plaster wraps and Memo Heredia, and it's not that big a deal.

        Basically:

        Eye doe

        Knee doe

        Weight doe

        Ref doe

        No proof of plaster doe

It's just chest acne from sweat doe

        Shopworn doe

        Too many wars doe

        He wasn't our best doe

We need to focus on these diva fans and their feminine soap opera bullshyt when it comes to petty envy...

if cotto did not think it would have a negative effect on Geale, he would not have asked for it in the first place.

Edit: Ok, I looked it up. In NY, in a middleweight bout, there cannot be a difference of more than 13 pounds.

junior flyweight (108 pounds) 4 pounds
            flyweights (112 pounds) 5 pounds
junior bantamweight (115 pounds) 6 pounds
            bantamweights (118 pounds) 7 pounds
junior featherweight (122 pounds) 7 pounds
            featherweights (126 pounds) 8 pounds
junior lightweight (130 pounds) 9 pounds
            lightweights (135 pounds) 10 pounds
junior welterweight (140 pounds) 11 pounds
            welterweights (147 pounds) 12 pounds
junior middleweight (154 pounds) 13 pounds
            middleweights (160 pounds) 13 pounds
super middleweight (168 pounds) 13 pounds
light heavyweights (175 pounds) 14 pounds
            cruiserweight (190 pounds) 15 pounds
heavyweights (all over 190 pounds) no limitations
            I learned something today. Thanks

Cotto looks filled. Geale looks like a tall flyweight.
Geale looks the same he did when he weighed in for the GGG fight...
