My understanding is MX gloves will soon be banned in the UK.

It appears this thread has devolved into name calling and nonsense though.
Yes Porter did wear those gloves.

I can't see Brook refusing them, doesn't strike me as the type, but if it down to him then screw him. I have no time for it, but I think it's more than likely down to Hearn trying to protect an asset. It's bad enough they're choosing Rios in first place, nobody was asking for Rios-Brook.
Frank Warren said the other day that he thought the glove (also the Reyes horsehair glove) was getting banned too, because one of his fighters were using it. I think it might have been Eubank Jr actually - anyways, it doesn't protect the fighter's hands enough and there's not enough padding in it.

As if Brook would give a shyt.

Let's play Kell-end game. Thurman's opposition is Brook's fault. Had he agreed to fight him then it wouldn't have been Collazo.

Just to put things in perspective Brook signed with Hearn around 2011 and has had 12 fights under him. Almost that whole time he was a mandatory challenger and fought whom really? Topping bills against Matthew Hatton or Carson Jones isn't much to brag about, but better than being on a Nathan Cleverly under card I guess. Let's not pretend as if Brook became what he is right now over night. He definitely learned to mooch off of Amir's name that's for sure. How else would it be a "global" fight?

Had Haymon been willing to send him over, that fight might have happened.

If true, it's a low move. Still, not going to lie - i'm happy if this fight doesn't go ahead.

Rios is a punch bag. He'll make Brook look good in a one-sided beat down.

They said the same about Algieri, and Khan made him look like GGG.

Did Hearn send an offer and where did they reject it?

Did it ever occur to people may Algieri Is that good? The kid won a title in 20 fights as if he was a highly touted prospect with 0 amateur bouts, turned to boxing in 20s and in kickboxing/muay thai you barely use your hands, so not much of a background there. Then you have Brook who won ABAs and has been boxing for ages and took forever to get there. It is obvious that a proper boxing coach was really the last piece of the puzzle for Algieri to utilize his full potential. Just a thought!

Algieri is just not very good. Khan "struggling" with him doesn't make him good.
