You can criticize him for Gavin. That was a sht match-up and a boring fight. But even then, there wasn't much available and it was a stay-busy fight with a date already set in August.
It's not like Khan who had the chance to fight Brook but turned it down only to fight Algieri.
Imagine the crap Khan would have given Brook if Brook had fought Algieri. I can just imagine:
"I'm the one fighting all the big names out there - He's fighting the likes of Algieri who's a C level fighter"

Most people don't realize ALL the Welterweights have fights booked for the next two-three months already. Rios will also provide entertainment.
The next best thing and only available Welterweight after Rios is Diego Chaves. The Argentine who was probably going to beat Rios if he didn't get DQ'd against him.
