    This is a turd-polishing contest.

Neither you nor Dirk have a chance at winning this one.

I have been saying for weeks that the current welters have done nothing.

Mayweather made his retirement date public about three years ago.

Not one welter got relevant for September, not one of them LOL.

When Mayweather retires, what will motivate the current welters ?

A payday against Jessie Vargas ?

I have a message for whoever wins your argument

To whoever wins the argument, I say this..... your guy is shht

Disinterested, and uninspiring, is how I describe Brook/Khan/Bradley/Thurman.

I think the argument began and ended when Hanz couldn't answer a simple question despite being asked at least 20 times. He's now abandoned ship to go troll another thread

I think that it is shameful that not one welter was interested enough to make an effort to land that last remaining Mayweather payday. Not one welter attempted to put together two nice back-to-back wins against top opposition.

            e.g.
The Khan/Brook winner would be a shoe-in to land that fight

The winner of Thurman/Brook, Khan/Thurman, or any combination including Brook / Bradley / Thurman / Khan, would be close to stamping their mark on that payday..... but nope, nothing !

There has been complete disinterest from the so-called top welters, not one of them made a effort to distance themselves from the pack, with ALL choosing underwhelming opposition heading toward September 2015.

The guys who are arguing over the merits of any of the current welters are engaging in a turd-polishing contest imho.

There is a massive gap between Mayweather, and the next best.

            Thoughts ?
I love the WW division and agree with what you say about none of the WW not earning a shot but I think their doing it for various reasons.

But let's be honest all the WWs are essentially fighting for 2nd place and none of them are attempting to earn a shot for Sept.

Khans team is hoping he will be handed a May fight because of his so called name and would rather sit and wait and not earn it. Khans team isn't interested in fighting Brook / Thurman because if he wins he would have earned it but there's a good possibility that Khan get beat down so they won't take the risk.Their looking for a handout like Their at the soup kitchen

Brook while holding the remaining belt would be a ideal opponet for Sept. But HEARN and co. Aren't really pushing for that fight if it gets given to them they'll take it but Kell doesn't have a name in the ,States so they'd rather build him up in the UK and make him a bigger star in his homeland and keep holding onto the belt slowly building his resume and building a career . That's why he'll probably fight Rios or Marquez next ( Don't have a problem with either fight )

Thurman would be my ideal candidate and a legitimate threat but he is a unknown and just now starting to get a push. Bad timing on his part because Kell , Khan , Porter don't want none of him he will have to wait until someone's team grows some nuts and decides to throw down. But he's might be the heir apparent.

Porter isn't a option, less known then Thurman and doesn't have a belt and lost to Brook maybe if he beats Broner impressively but I don't see it.

Bradley's was never in the picture because of his loss to Pac and BS draw to Chavez add to it he's with Top Rank.

No interest in a Maidana trilogy ( Mayweather doesn't fight for Top Rank )plus he looks like he weighs 250

Marquez is probably going to retire and was shut out against Mayweather no need for that fight

Pac is " injured" and I think that rematch happens in May 2016 , same result as first fight but there'll be some new excuses.

I think that covers all the ,WWs that have a shot, Canelo is with GB and their suing Haymon so that's a no go, Cotto with Roc so that's a no go

That's why I think it'll be Khan by default but should really be Garcia if Thurman and Brook aren't options.

I think legacy wise Garcia is 10x better then Khan ,he took Khans soul which he's still trying to find he's clearly wears the crown at 140 ,cleared out his div and beat all the top names and honestly I think he probably brings almost as much $ to the table as Khan plus he has a 0. Add to that you know Angel will help sell the sh..it out of this fight. Plus the inner hater in me would love to see Khan passed over again because his team refuses to earn a shot.

That's kind of how I see it at the moment. You ?

Why didn't the American fighters you want Brook to face wait until Brook's August date?

Simple question. Post or link me your answer.

I agree entirely, that is exactly what they are doing.

                    Excellent point !

They are fighting for 2nd place, and not doing a particularly great job of that either.

That is exactly how I see it.

Also, you made some good points about Garcia, and had the timing been right for him then he may well have been the most deserving guy.

But that time was after Matthyse, Garcia has lost a lot of momentum since then, despite remaining undefeated.

During 2014, these guys should all have been positioning themselves to take on the biggest available challenge early in 2015, but nobody did, not one of them lol.

I think that Mayweather will pick Cotto unfortunately, he may have to.

So, aside from Mayweather getting a cheap MW strap, the waters at 160 become more muddied, and Mayweather will not defend it.

I agree with you that allot of fighters didn't start making the moves in 2014, I think most of that's because what was happening business wise with Haymon / GB, Haymon was giving all his fighters dog sh.it to get off GB contracts. ( Garcia vs Salka ). So that killed all momentum for his whole roster among hard core fans and we're probably seeing the results now.

But the PBC seems rolling so now the push will be on not to be Floyds last victim but to see who will be the " new " Mayweather which is more valuable anyways.

I agree with better timing with Garcia would have been after the Matthysse but he beat clearly beat Lamont even if he didn't look good doing it.( Lamont threw away the first 7 rounds, and if Lamont implemented a better strategy he probably would have won )

I'd be cool with Cotto rematch there's worse things then 2 first ballot HOF fighters fighting, I just have tough time thinking Roc / Haymon make a deal. I mean Haymon pretty much made Quillen drop his belt because of the Roc and nixed deals for Thurman , Broner & Wilder.
