very few fighters are comfortable at the weigh-in, most of them have to cut weight for a reason... but again, i think that any fighter will rather struggle to make 154 than to fight on a division like 160, other than floyd most fighters go up to 170 on fight night and that doesnt mean they have to go to MW...

Canelo could cut the 155lb bull**** and fight the best MW in the world in Sept. if he wanted it.
why will jmws be offering fights at a fighter that belongs at MW?
if GGG wants to fight jmws he needs to campaign there...
oscar didnt want canelo to fight trout or lara, and canelo did it, i have no doubt that he will fight him if he comes down, or when canelo goes up...

GGG is a bit taller but I think canelo is broader.

There is no reason as to why Canelo cant fight at 160, he wouldnt have to cut so much weight to weigh in and would be healthier.

Im not sure how many fighters have created their own weight division to 'grow into' the next one, just move up and have a few easy fights to get acclimatized.
if you are unaware of non-title fights taking place one pound over the limit then you prob havent been following the sport enough... you have every right to disagree with that, but no one is going against the rules by doing that...

All the b*tching about Canelo fighting at 155 is coming from Canelo haters who are desperate to trash him for something. Any fool knows that the vast majority of non title fights between contenders are fought a pound or two over the class limit. If Canelo was a 154 pound champion and he defended his title at 155 that would be wrong. Just as wrong as Cotto defending his 160 pound title at a Cotto weight limit of 157. Canelo is not a champion and has no obligation to fight at 154. Hell, don't make a damn federal case out of one stinking pound. Canelo can and will make 154 if he fights for a 154 pound title.

I am aware that boxers do this but.....

Canelo doesnt want to fight for titles @154, he said so himself.

So what is he actually doing then?

As far as Canelo's team wanting to start a new special weight class just for Canelo that's pure BS and nonsense. There are two important fighters that did just that. Mayweather started his own jr jr middleweight class of 152 and Cotto started his own super junior middleweight class of 157.

at the kirkland postfight conference he said that he wants to go for a 154 title this year, he didnt want laras title cuz that is the same title he lost to floyd, so lara getting that title vs trout who was coming off a loss to canelo was kind of bogus...

Canelo, the world's number 1 ranked 154 pounder has committed the unpardonable sin of having 2 non title fights at 155. For doing this he should lose his boxing license. He should be tarred and feathered. He should be kicked out of his church and he should be kicked out of Mexico and banished to live out his days on bread and water in a prison on the southern tip of South America.

                      Dude fought Mayweather,Trout,Lara,and Kirkland!
And while you're wrapping your mind around that he only loss to Mayweather ! He's called out the toughest guys in his division! At his age you have to give it to him. He's the champion with or without belts! And I thought going in that he was another Julio Ceaser Chavez Jr!
