Promoter Gary Shaw clarified to BoxingScene.com that Geale's 30-day weight, released by the WBC as 158, was inaccurate. He said 'no chance' he was 158-pounds 30 days ago.

I have very little doubt that he'll make it since that's essentially what he's being paid for. He'll do whatever he has to in order to make 157 because that's the only way the fight will go on. You see how Cotto's been acting? Geale better make the weight or his purse will be ****d and/or the fight might not happen.

Depending on his current condition, he could drop 10.5lbs of water weight in a single day and be fine. This weight was taken on last Friday, but these guys aren't walking around under 160 except for the day of the weigh-in. Then they weigh in the 170's the day of the fight.

Geale is at fault... Knowing he had to lose 3 extra pounds all this time, he should have been more disciplined. Little tweaks in his diet alone could have accomplished that extra 3 lbs...For this disrespect to the Great Cotto, he deserves the "Sergio program..."
