  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Mayweather Won't Go Near Brook - Too Risky!

Promoter Barry Hearn of Matchroom Sports consider IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs) to be the second best, and possibly the best, 147-pound fighter in the world. The only boxer he holds in higher regard is WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs).

Hearn would love to match Brook against Mayweather, but doubts the fight will ever happen. Mayweather returns on September 12th, for what the pound-for-pound king claims will be the final fight of his pro career. The fronterunner to face Mayweather is Brook's domestic rival Amir Khan.

Seems everyone and their dog took notes from Arum on how to build a fighter from 135 to 160lbs.

I'd love this fight if for nothing more than spiting Amir Khan.

Would be a good fight and I think he's the 2nd best fighter in the division, but nobody is beating Mayweather.

Mayweather doesn't fight black fighters. I'm sorry it's true. The last time he fought another Moor he almost got knocked the **** out. Fact.

I wouldn't mind Mayweather-Thurman but I think Mayweather is too old to take on a wild lion like him. One Time by KO
