no way Floyd is the greatest, to be the greatest you have to test yourself over and over again, he's the best of our era, ill give him that. I don't think he's even in the top 10 greatest of all time on most experts list.

I remember George Foreman and Muhammad Ali being on a British talk show in the late 80s and the host asked Ali if he believed that he was truly the greatest. Ali smirked at the question because he thought it was ridiculous that someone would ask such a question. His response was "NO" because he only called himself the "Greatest" to hype up fights and market his brand. He said he never truly believed he was the greatest.

George Foreman added that there is no way any fighter can be the greatest of all time because you can't really compare eras. He said all a fighter can do is be "the best in HIS era."

So is Floyd the greatest of all time? You can't know the answer to that 100% because fighters of different eras fought under different circumstances. But is he the best of his era? I would say undoubtedly he is.

I don't know if he is or not. However, in an era where boxing is supposed to be dead he sure kept a lot of people talking. Good or bad he is the face of boxing.

It sickens me when you dudes say he doesn't test himself. The guys he beat were supposed to KO him, over and over. The guys he fought have beaten the snot out of people but could barely break thru Floyd's defense. That's actually a display of greatness, not a sign of running from tough fights.

Anywho, Mayweather is not the GOAT and neither is Ali. But they are the best of their eras by miles!! Floyd is an ATG and one of the most talented boxers to ever lace them up. But his outspoken persona blinds people with hate.
