I always felt Algieri was more game than anyone gave him credit for. He surprised even me. Khan was off his game but Algieri forced him to be uncomfortable

What exactly is was so abnormal from this Khan performance that people keep on saying this wasn't the same khan? He fought exactly like he always fought.

Or maybe khan is just a one trick pony with handspeed and nothing else??

I reckon Khan didn't prepare for that type of fight vs Algieri which threw him off and as a result, he pretty much had to use a completely different gameplan. Props to John David Jackson.

Algeiri is a solid guy, who is tough as nails. He can't crack at all though (he is physically strong) and he doesn't have much defense.

If he had more of the flashy stuff to go with his determination he would really be something, but he is solid in a Malinaggi sort of way.

I will say this though Algeiri is a more versatile guy than Khan.

I thought Ruslan got jobbed on the cards against Algieri and was pretty upset at it...but Algieri's performance in that fight was not surprising. Before that fight I commented many times that he was much tougher than his record indicated (on top of having some nice athleticism).

because I felt he didn;t do quite enough to nick Ruslan... I thought he was being taken for a ride and would get his butt kicked againt Pac...he was artificially elevated way too quicky..Iwas pretty upset at that too, but what can ya do.

Here he returned back to a level he can compete in - he had to prove himself all over again, show that he can do better than merely getting credit for exceeding expectations. I think he's done that more than once now- he belongs in the mix.

Fighting with that sort of aggression will win him those razor thin rounds that I wasn't giving him before (maybe they might not be razor thin anymore)..he's shown some good diversitynow

He Is! One thing John David Jackson did was get Algieri to stop moving his feet so much and got him to stand on his punches and you could say it worked because he did Wobble Khan early.

It seen some improvements and that was just 1 Fight under John David Jackson. Give him a few more with JDJ and lets see. The dude has heart and he can box a bit.

Algieri looked a lot bigger was impressed with his intention and think if he was more honed in on that type of fighting he could've won possibly in big fashion.

Thought he could've worked his way in w/jab and fought more of a physical fight put Amir on the ropes instead of trying to load up to much but he's game vs any of the other top WW.

Great performance by algieri, I still had Kahn winning but not by that big margin those two refs had it. It was a much closer fight and wouldn'tind swing a rematch
