He wants Canelo and Cotto not because they are the best P4P fighters or the best MW's, but because of money. He wants Mayweather, not for the challenge, but because of money. If you agree with this, and let's stop painting GGG as a guy who would actually fight anyone and just can't get fights because he is feared.
I don't paint him as that, but how many of those guys have actually agreed to fight him, money or no money?

Ward pretends, and Lara's manager talks shit on twitter but that's it.

It doesn't seem like a smart move to me to move up to fight for the same money on PPV as he could make against a weaker opponent off PPV in his own weight class but it's entirely possible K2 don't agree with my view.

How does Ward pretend? He never even started the talks of Ward vs GGG, it was the media and fans following up on GGG's trainer saying they would fight anyone from 154 to 175. Ward said yes he would fight him at 168. You are accusing the wrong fighter as a pretender.

If Lara's manager only talks crap and that's it, then GGG and his promoter should call their bluff and publicly call them out, embarrass them in a post fight HBO interview in the ring. Tell them we accept and to shut up if you are not serious. Instead they said he is not a name or big money fight.

Froch, Lara, Canelo and Ward are all willing to fight GGG. Mayweather and Cotto understandably, especially Mayweather who is a WW who only comes up to JMW for the biggest names possible. He fought there 3 times in a span of 7 years. GGG is not a big name. Cotto has now chose to fight Geale so that leaves his situation hard to defend. It was a bad move, he should have gone for Lee or someone else coming off a win if he was gonna stay at MW. Otherwise Cotto doesn't have to fight GGG, he can fight Canelo and retire. Like I have stated before, Cotto is not in this sport to do charity work for other lesser known fighters. His only mistake has been choosing Geale, that's something he should be criticized for, but I stand by that Cotto doesn't have to give GGG a charity fight to "beef up his name so other fighters can fight".

        • The fight has to make financial sense for Froch. Team Golovkin of all people should understand that reasoning.

It wasn't the media when Ward had his lawyer send an email to Jim Lampley to be read on air after a Golovkin fight that "He’ll fight him anywhere, anyplace, and anytime." That was straight up posturing. Ward was locked into a contract battle with Goosen at the time and wasn't fighting anybody. Once the lawsuit was resolved and he went to RN, he dropped the "anywhere, anyplace, and anytime" line and said he needed 3 tuneups and is now fighting at 172lbs. He could've went straight at Golovkin with a contract offer.

Loeffler has repeatedly said they're open to a Lara fight, but what he doesn't touch on is the HBO/Haymon divide. Everyone knows that's impossible right now. From Stevenson/Kovalev to Quillin/Korobov, Haymon has hundreds of millions of dollars invested into the PBC brand with HBO being the only entity standing in way from completely taking over boxing. He's not about to let one of his fighters onto the HBO network to put on a big fight, lose, and increase the strength of HBO.

Don't expect Loeffler to touch on it because he's not one to burn bridges with Haymon. He's got other fighters that occasionally have fights with Haymon fighters.

In the meantime Lara is in need of attention. Haymon's giving him scrap fights with Ishe Smith and Delvin Rodriguez. Thus his manager drums up the GGG talk.

Cotto made himself a fair target for GGG when he took the Martinez fight away from Golovkin. Like a little dog who snuck outside and ate food ment for a wolf. The little dog is now on the menu unless it runs back into the house (Cotto gets out of the MW division).

Golovkin can't fight Lee because Lee is locked into a mandatory defense with Saunders.
