Next Saturday night, Miguel Cotto will make the first defense of his WBC middleweight championship against Daniel Geale at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Some fans are critical of Cotto's ongoing run in the middleweight division, because the Puerto Rican superstar has yet to fight an opponent at the contract weight of 160-pounds, which is the middleweight limit.
Cotto's 2014 title winning effort over Sergio Martinez took place at a catch-weight of 159-pounds. Against Geale, the catch-weight is even steeper with the Australian challenger being forced to sink down to 157-pounds.
