So you're upset because he's fighting in a weight class he doesn't belong in even if he beats the top contenders? Stop feeling bad for these fighters that are coming down to meet the weight limit. They have agreed to it, meaning they are capable of doing it. A few years back cotto refused a massive payday for a rematch with pac at 147 Because he was fighting at 154 at the time. he said either we fight at 154 or we don't fight at all. As a boxer, you know your limits and know how far you can push yourself. Besides, I see no one crying about geale or any other middleweight outweighting cotto 15-20 pounds on fight night.

But he is not fighting the top contender, is he? In fact, he is doing everything possible to avoid that MANDATORY contender. As this is the case, there is no reason to address anything else in your post.

Dude, do your research before you make claims like that. Cotto first choice was Heilan, who is his MANDATORY. HBO did not approve so he had to move On to geale. You're also acting like geale is a push over. Dude is a 3x world champ! GGG is not the only contender at 160 dude

OK...you are a TOTAL, COMPLETE IDIOT. Heilan was NEVER Cotto's mandatory challenger for his WBC title. Do you even follow the sport?

          From the WBC website: http://wbcboxing.com/wbceng/news/422...-face-golovkin

Mauricio Sulaiman, World Boxing Council President, confirms that Miguel Cotto must face Gennady Golovkin in an obligatory defence.

Kazakh “GGG” defeated Britain's Martin Murray, last weekend, successfully defending his WBC interim middleweight championship. Cotto is the absolute Champion of the division, while Genaddy is the official challenger.

However, the Champion has a voluntary defence. If he wins he must fight Golovkin.

“ Miguel Cotto will have a voluntary defense. He will choose his rival. But the winner will have to face Golovkin” Mauricio stressed.

Possible opponents for Cotto are Timothy Bradley and Erislandy Lara. The fight Is scheduled for June at a venue to be determined.

Cotto vs GGG then GGG vs Canelo.... those are the ONLY matchups ANYONE is intertested in.
            The rest is just BS!

The lineal title means NOTHING right now. Cotto got the Sergio bout because Sergio was scared of GGG everyone knows that. This isn't brain surgery it's boxing. When a fighter avoids someone it's pretty obvious he's scared or his promotion is scared.
            Pretty cut & dry!
