I don't care about the history of either division. All I know is the competition at SMW CURRENTLY trumps the competition of MW. And if Golovkin is head and shoulders above his current division he should be looking to test himself and fight the better fighters above or below MW. That's what the fans care about, and that's what you should care about. Not all the other hoopla you posted. Not sitting around trying to get fat off a fight with a war town Cotto, or Canelo.

I guarantee you he would gain more respect going down to fight Lara or going up to fight Ward. Instead he's content fighting in a division his obviously too good for.
What is so great about super middleweight? You got Ward, who may or may not even fight there again, and Froch, who's a$$ is already half way out the door. What else do we have? Dirrell brothers? Degale? They do not add up to much.

He may also be suffering some burnout. A 4 fight a year schedule means little downtime to recover.
He had a longer than usual layoff when popa Golovkin passed away RIP (he was actually scheduled to fight Andy Lee).

This is what I've been saying too. Froch is the money fight if he doesn't retire. Ward would be the best possible win as far as his career goes. After that it's thin. DeGale could be a pretty big fight down the road if he keeps winning, I think it's premature for that right now as he's barely known in the boxing world, really most people seen him for the first time against DeGale (obviously in the UK he's more known though).

No one noticed because, prior to two years ago, he was fighting bums off television as the opening attraction at the monthly Kazhanstan professional wrestling shows. He only started fighting bums on television in the last two years so no one except a few wrestling fans knew who he was two years ago.

I think he needs a rest. 33 is not a spring chicken in this game. At least one space in a year where he can take a full couple months off.

Ward Jack Degale Both Dirells, Froch, Abraham, Bika. Ward and Froch alone should speak for itself. I know there is others too.

Those fights would be much more suited for Golovkin imo than Jacobs, Lemiuex, Quillin, Cotto, Lee.

Golovkin is too good for MW and that in itself is more the issue than comparing the two divisions. Outside of a fight with Canelo why should he fight there from a competitive stand point? What's the point, he's not fooling anyone.

He was fighting almost exclusively in Germany dip****. He's only fought once in his home country and that was because he had legal issues.

Unfortunately he was promoted by Felix Sturms company, which d1cked him around for years. Golovkin lived in Germany and rose up the ranks and became mandatory to Sturm. That was going to be a big fight in Germany and that was his goal. But he stayed mandatory for over two years and the WBA wouldn't enforce it (Sturms manager admitted to paying them $750,000 so that he wouldn't have to fight Golovkin). Golovkin then got into a legal dispute to get out of his contract, which is why he had to fight in Panama a couple times and Kazakhstan in between just so he could stay busy. He's also fought in Denmark.

Well Jack, Bika(who last fought at lt heavy) and Abraham are not noteworthy at all. A fight against Lee or Quillin is just as interesting to me. Even Lemieux at least guarantees a fun fight, and he does have that outside of the box power which gives him that outside chance. SuperMiddle is a fading division. It is turning into Middleweight. New blood is needed in both Divisions. I will not even talk about Cotto or Canelo as opponents as they are not going to happen. So even without them, GGG can still at least get a couple good fights, then maybe move up to see what is left up there in 2016

He will be fine, he is fighting guys with very few KO's so it's not like he's gonna get KTFO at MW. If one of them have the skill to out box him but not the power to hurt him, they won't keep him off him and will keep losing by KO. Those who have KO power are too limited like Lee, Lemieux, and then the one's that have power and skill like Canelo and Cotto would have many physical disadvantages at 160 vs GGG. They would be fighting a taller, stronger, more powerful version of themselves.
