Presumably then he couldn't fight again until the Super 6 had finished or is it just a coincidence he fought again 13 days after the tournament ended in the very same month?
Conveniently forgotten is what happened next. SI.com reported on March 28, 2010, that Dirrell was treated and released from the hospital with the whole matter taking about three hours. BoxingScene.com informed us that Dirrell had several tests to rule out a possible concussion. Andres brain scans were fine and some sort of urine test was performed. Finally, on September 24, 2010, Dan Rafael wrote a piece for ESPN that provided, in relevant part, that [t]alk had swirled that Ward and Dirrell, who are good friends, did not want to fight each other[.] If anyone knows about boxing talk, it is Rafael.
