Errol Spence is "da future".........? not so fast

I'm not convinced one bit, who the flying fck has he fought? He's only a year or two younger than Thurman (who is criticised for his resume) and Thurman's resume eclipses his. His reputation seems to be solely based off of the Broner and Mayweather sparring reports.

Also I notice a lot of his fans on here are ex or former Broner hypemen looking for a new prospect

Now he's facing another tomato can

He looks decent but not ELITE, if you look at most of the elite boxers throughout history they usually had one attribute that seperated them, be it devastating power, blurring handpseed, iron chin or crazy stamina, I don't see nothing special in Spence, he's not that fast, his power is good but not devastating and will inevitably be less effective when he stops facing tomato cans, there's no wow factor with him. At least with Broner you could say he's got some really fast hands and Thurman is an explosive puncher.

    I'm not impressed, AT ALL!

If his name were Errol Spencerovic you'd be riding his di.ck like a brand new Harley.

Nope. I think GGG is overrated too, but he keeps smashing everyone in his division so until he unifies and Cotton lets go of the belt I'll criticise him for not moving up to face Ward.

He's still just an up & comer so quite obviously guys like Thurman have better resumes. That doesn't mean he isn't good and won't be good. Thurman turned pro in 2007 Spence just turned pro at the very end of 2012 (November or December) so essentially he's been a pro for two years and he's already taking bigger steps than Thurman did in the same time frame.

A lot of people including myself became fans of his during the Olympics. It was Spence and Terrell Gausha who had some really entertaining fights and guys like me were saying these guys have Pro styles, they look good. Gausha I don't think is nearly as good though, but Spence has the skills AND he has an offensive, entertaining style of fighting that people will love to watch assuming he continues to advance and move up the ranks. He has potential to be a very good fighter and a big draw.

GGG is not in a competitive division...so what if he's smashing cans in his MW ghost town.

Nobody poses a threat to him.

Spence is in a competitive division ..he's poised to make noise at Welterweight.

He looks like a future great to me.

          Excellent awarenes
          Good defense
          Awesome body work
          Great foot work
          Throws sweet combos.
          Snapping jab
          A gym rat
          Lives a clean lifestyle

          Spence has it all.

He's got a lot of hype because of the fact he gave Floyd trouble in sparring and apparently battered Broner in sparring.

I'm personally not that impressed from what I've seen so far.

Spence is a big boy for his weight class, and he is very athletic.

Being big and an elite athlete is usually very tough to deal with for most guys and guy is very well schooled in the ring.

I don't know if he's the future (that's a pretty bold statement), but he's got some serious potential.

                    Hear, fooking, hear

Well said - not impressed either.

I would pick Guerrero, who seems to be a good enough measuring stick for who is world class and who is not, over him right now.
