Is the UK experiencing a golden age in boxing?

I'm not up on all their history but they seem to be churning out a lot of top notch boxers at the moment.

Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Froch, Degale, Khan, Brook, Quigg, Frampton...has there ever been another era where this much world class talent has come out of the United Kingdom?

We've always done well for the size of our country.

It seems we are getting some big wins away from home now though. Brook-Porter, DeGale-Dirrell, even Jamie McDonell which I was shocked about.

You're describing Yanks, yeah? The people who base the validity of sports on the size and dimensions of other grown men?

Probably the best since various years in the 90s.

Agreed. The 90s was full of very good fighters. We had Naz, Bruno, Lewis, Benn, Eubank, Nelson, Watson and the start of Calzaghe. But this era could go on to be just as good for us if the guys mentioned and others like Callum Smith go on to fulfill their potential.

It could be argued that this has been happening steadily since the mid 80s

Investing in the Olympic squad hasn't hurt.

Some of those guys were certainly of the very highest quality, most of our top guys right now are perhaps just a notch or so below that with maybe only Frampton and potentially Joshua able to reach those highest limits. I personally don't think Callum Smith's potential is particularly high.
