i havent seen it on tv yet and i wasnt really keeping score like i do watching at home, but i thought degale definitely won rounds 1-3, 11, and 12. there was another one that i thought he won somewhere between rounds 6 and 8. i thought the 114-112 scores were spot on. no idea what that 3rd judge was watching.

actually, when they read those scores and i heard the 117-109 i thought for sure dirrell was getting the decision.

        113-113

7-5. Knockouts made it a draw.
Same card as the two good judges apart from round 1 for Dirrel. 12 could of gone either way too but had it for James.

          Exactly how I saw it.

DeGale won rounds 1,2,3,4,6,11 and 12

Dirrell won rounds 5,7,8,9 and 10

You could possibly give the opener to Dirrel, narrowing the margin a little bit but it's still a pretty emphatic win in terms of damage caused and power punches landed, something which doesn't play a big enough role with the current scoring system.

It's clear that PBC intends to set its own belt system...
I also watched UFC last night -- and I saw Mike Tyson there, at the MGM Arena...

... I don't think that PBC would be able to emulate UFC -- different sports, different history and traditions. But who knows?

Thats the way I saw it
Sky commentary were biased it seems in Dirrels favour, just because Dirrel is chasing doesnt mean hes winning the round.
Didnt think it was that close when you take into consideration the 2 KDs

despite the knockdowns, it was a close, competetive fight.

scorecards were a joke, but the right man won.

Thats how I had it. Can't make any case for Dirrell winning because of the KD's. There weren't enough swing rounds.

Funnily enough, that Canadian judge with the 117-109 card seems to have been a Haymon appointment. I was looking through his boxrec profile and he's only judged a handful of title fights, and almost all of those involved Steve Molitor in Canada.

Out of nowhere he judged one IBF title fight in Vegas back in 2012 and it was LSC's first fight under Haymon (against Morel). He apparently has only had one other trip to the USA to judge and it was another IBF fight in Vegas, Tarver-Dawson when Tarver was managed by Haymon.

Weird. He didn't do Al any favours last night.
