Whichever way you wish to slice it and dice it, Lomachenkho is one of the best amateurs of all time and double Olympic Gold Medalist.

I don't think he needs to be compared negatively to any amateur ever.

You're absolutely correct the sport needs both types... If it was all technicians we would honestly be out to sleep and this is coming from a guy who prefers that style. If it was only brawlers, while exciting it would lead to a lot of fights getting decided by "a lucky punch" that the other guy just as easily could've landed himself. It would be brutal and it would take from the science of the sport... It wouldn't be much more than human **** fighting.

The match up of brawler vs boxer in my opinion is always the more exciting fight. Brain vs Brawn... I think every style of fighting in this game should be appreciated if you're a true fan. The same way a fighter wants to be a "complete fighter" and home every tool in his arsenal so should a fan.

the point im trying to make is that the amateure scale and competition is much different in cuba where rigo foaught his amateure bouts compareed to russian or eastern euro where lomancheknos fights took place,.as we all know the cuban style of boxing is very luxious compared to the face style brawling bar fights that russian is known for, what i perosonally think is that rigo had to hav faced much harder opponenets in his 400-475 amatuere fights than compare to lomans 400 amateure bouts due to stylistic reasons,,in cuba there r all kinds of fighting styleshowever ,,they are very disciplened in there mannurisms and defense,,in russian the boxing is all about power and sloppy footwork and no defense,

He was a joy to watch back in 2008. Made opponents look very workmanlike at times. By 2012 he was clearly in decline. People who've only seen him as a pro have only seen a diminished version of him.

Most guys in Rigo's division are retired at 30 ... Rigo is 34.
excatly, this is why I think rigo ****ed up asking for too much money, dude you have to get the fights under your belt first and be in demand then you can demand pay raises etc.
