"It was damaging for the sport. I can't imagine there is anyone out there saying they loved it. Considering they're two all-time greats, the money they walked away with, what the fans had to pay, it was all a bit of a letdown. Then when Manny blamed his defeat on a shoulder injury, it soured it even further," Hatton told BBC Sport.

Watch what Ricky Hatton used to serve up as entertainment. I counted over 20 hugs in that one round!

Hatton was a decent fighter but deep down he's a bitter man. I can understand going out the way he did. Very sad.

Nonsense: anyone of 5 boxers from the Leonard/Hagler-era
          would've handed Mayweather his head...
And your credible sources for all of your wild theories is where exactly?

Making over $200m for 36 minutes of work? I'd say otherwise.

Yes Pacquiao could have cut the ring off way better (or gotten his NSAID's) and Mayweather could had cut back on the clinching and elbows, but it is what it is.

A rematch would be a better fight because it would force them both to adjust to the new tactics they would use.
Fans want knockouts..... Then why the **** do they keep buying Floyd fights???

                2. NSAC attitude of putting all the blames to boxer must be eliminated, must have clear definition on how to check and double check condition of Boxers.
                3. Drug Testing must be clearly defined on how many times. Pacman was drug tested 13 times. Was there any Olympians or even a Pro Boxer, who was drug tested 13 times prior to any competition?
                3. All boxers should be checked and confirmed in good health physical and mental prior to fight
Didnt take long for one of these morons to come in and ruin the thread.

was fighting with only one arm.

Now, Mayweather is trying to re-write history by manipulating public perception via the deceptive act of bogusly blaming Pacquiao for making the fight a boring dud. Specifically, he keeps blaming Pac's not being honest about his injury pre-fight for the reason for the fight's boringness.

THINK. The problem is: The more Mayweather blames Pacquiao's shoulder injury for the fight's boringness the more he admits that he indeed beat a one armed fighter, hence tainting and...

making meaningless his (Floyd Mayweather's) so-called "win."

Yeah! Mayweather destroyed boxing with his running and hugging. Floyd never has been and never will be a fighter. He proved it on that pathetic night.
Pac was using both arms the entire fight.

When he had Floyd on the ropes....HE GOT SCARED AND BACKED OFF.

                    Mayweather is the perfect criminal.

Goes and steals all this money out of the sport and not providing the entertainment aspect of the service we paid for, then actually has brainwashed people support him for this. Amazing guy.

He single handily ruined boxing IMO. People say, oh no, he lifted the sport, put it on the map, in what way? In that people turn on boxing to watch other fighters now that actually fight? Or that duck, dodge, slip, and move away? That's why Lara is so popular and Rigo is in demand on HBO right? lol
