Edited videos and gifs don't tell the full story. Mayweather won that fight clearly it's not even debateable, only if you count blocked punches which casuals seem to do can it be close.

I still think Rigo reaching out to quickly tap one of Kokietgym's gloves and then immediately throwing a 1-2 was more messed up than what Floyd did to Ortiz. Mostly because I think Ortiz was buggin having his guard low for that long after already apologizing. Legal cheap shot, but even if it weren't I wouldn't feel too bad after that big headbutt.
Anyway, was very surprised at the overall quality of this thread compared to most May/Pac ones that turn into a **** fest. This all demonstrated what we could already see in the ring in that it was a very technical fight on both sides. Pac had a hard time being the offensive fighter people expected of him, but had surprising success counter punching. Still think it was a 7-5/8-4 [May-Pac] kind of fight personally, and was surprised how wide the scores were on some of the analysts cards.

I think both guys struggled to do much of anything. I have been saying that since the fight, my immediate post after the fight was that the commentators ruined what was a good tactical and technical contest. I felt Pacquiao landed the meatier and harder punches but there weren't many by either guy. Floyd won by touching Pacquiao a little more, compubox was BS as usual. It was 8-4 Floyd, for me I had it 6-4 going into 11&12, so Pacquiao needed the last 2 on my card to pull out a draw. I was extremely disappointed with his efforts in the championship rounds, It was similar to the way he finished Bradley I.
I have seen fights like this before where the commentators are way off base and almost make you believe you saw something that you didn't, it has normally been when there is a clear superstar in the ring who they have backed financially. In this case, we had two all time greats, and I can't believe they called the fight this way. They ruined the whole event, it has left a bitter taste in my mouth. More than the fighters efforts, the shoulder fiasco, or anything else.

This thread shows that Manny did in fact have some success vs Floyd and disproves those people saying Floyd had it easy. Yeah he won 8-4 at least and he didn't take no beating, but it wasn't a walk along the beach the whole time either.
That being said, where have you guys found an HD version of this fight? I wouldn't mind watching it again but I can only find it in poor quality. Thanks.

from a damage perspective, if u count some of Pac's more significant shots as = to about 5 Floyd jabs or 2 right hands... that's when the "scoring" can get interesting. 1 point difference fight for me. Right hands were nice when he threw them, but I don't value shoe shining to a W, and don't feel shoe shiners should be coddled in a sport who's events are called "fights".
Maidana Floyd 1, using that same premise of power trumping more landed, makes the scoring interesting as well. Especially since Maidana threw over 1000 punches and out landed Floyd wit sheer volume. Don't quote compubox to me that's some drooling nard with a clicker.

Mayweather won the fight without a doubt. The reason why the scoring went the way it did was most observers (including the judges) saw Mayweather doing what he's done to most everyone he fought. On the other hand Pacquiao couldn't do what he was accustomed to doing. It's almost the same reasoning as the Bradley decision, except this time, Mayweather was actually getting the better of Pacquiao. Whatever the reason Pacquiao couldn't perform I don't care. Maybe, just maybe, Mayweather is that good. He actually took Pacquiao out of his game plan. The man deserves credit for taking one of the most offensive fighters and limiting him to 89 connected punches.
