He is usually fighting the best in his division though. Although it's an unbearable chore to sit through one of his fights, he is pretty consistent. IDK where I would put him on a P4P if I made my own, but he seems like a respectable candidate.

I don't have a problem with him being towards the back of the top 10, because there are so few certain candidates, but top 5? He shouldn't be close. Number 2 is laughable. Neither his competition or his performances against that competition can justify such placement.

I've never been a fan of Wladmir, but he ain't no spring chicken anymore. The guy's 39. May have a lot to do with why his last couple of fights were stale. He deserves to be on the P4P list, perhaps even higher.

i think where the disconnect comes from is that some people actually think clinching is a boxing skill and they give him credit for clinching 187 times against povetkin or 100 times against jenning. they think its defense or controlling the fight or being a ring general or something when in fact its just cheating but they have been conditioned to believe that clinching is good boxing so they think he's just doing good boxing. a real boxing match consists of 2 people boxing not just 1 guy boxing when he wants and disabling the other guy when the other guy wants to box

last couple fights were stale? try the last 10 years since he developed his "don't punch me clinch tactics" where were the non stale wlad fights? maybe more people are taking notice of his cheating tactics now but it sure took a hell of a long time.

well straight off the bat wlad should have been dq'd against povetkin so would a wlad with a recent dq loss deserve to be on the list? was akwindade on the list after he was dq'd against lewis? they did the same exact thing(except wlad did it much more) yet they got 2 different results.

What is with people and Wlad? Neither his competition or skillset are p4p at all. Only reason he could be on the list at all is because there's a lack of clear candidates past 6 or 7. Did people see how bad he looked when he wasn't allowed to cheat as much as he wanted against Bryant Jennings? Did they see how bad he looked when he cheated as much as you'll ever see against Povetkin?

You have to balance skill/recent accomplishment. He keeps dominating the best heavyweights in his division and its by a long shot.

man im telling you, HBO's tactics work even on boxing writers who i would've thought had more insight than casual fans, they line up that guy with some of the weakest opposition or small 154 fighters, c'mon GGG's toughest fights are against the BKB champ and the Boxcino champ, i love Gabe Rosado too but he fought GGG in his first fight at 160, he moved up a division to take the fight because it was a good opportunity for exposure, and the Boxcino Champ is a 154 fighter as well, GGG fights 154 fighters or fights stiffs like Murray who couldn't finish off a one legged fighter in a wet ring.....i mean c'mon talk about herd mentality
