PBC's a channel, like HBO so I think the comparison is fair.

What has happened to Showtime boxing though? who have they got?

They have the horses, they're just not putting on the best fights because Haymon is playing a dual role.

Can't deny it was exciting though, Monroe really stepped up and fought his heart out.

I liked the Thurman-Guerrero fight but who was asking for Peterson-Garcia fight? that's one they decided we should want rather than the other way around and the fans asking for it. It turned out good though to be fair.
HBO has the 1 and 2 best fighters in each division except welterweight. Pretty sure if you pitted the best HBO fighter and the best PBC fighter against each other the HBO fighter would win pretty much every fight.

True, but PBC should still be putting on better match-ups than they're delivering.

They're giving us Broner-Porter next, not a bad match-up but was anyone asking for it?

imo Broner v Khan or even Broner v Garcia was a more relevant bout to the fans, while Porter v Thurman is also one the fans preferred.

      Instead it's Khan-Algieri, Broner-Porter and Thurman-TBA.

And yea, what have we gotten on HBO so far this year? I certainly didn't want to see any of those fights we saw last week or any of the fights we saw the week before that. The way I see it, both networks have to step their game up dramatically. There's nothing big coming from HBO anytime soon. Broner vs. Porter is the most compelling match up in the near future so really what does that say?

yeah lets be honest, in terms of quality, HBO have the best guy...and this coming from someone who has no investment whatsoever, especially as a viewer in the UK.

I don't think so. Not anymore. HBO has a decent lineup and I feel the fact that they are bring Roman Gonzalez on hard shows they are really trying hard to bring onboard new talent from even the loneliest division to watch on HBO - Flyweights. PBC with Al Haymon took a lot of fun, entertaining fighters with them.

At this point I would say they have the better roster so no Arum, I cannot agree with you at this time but things change of course and HBO can easily get back to the top with fresh new talent worth watching.

It was all the mismatches he was giving up that catching up to fighters example

Kovolev did about the same on HBO
steaven did about 1.4 million on free prime time tv

leo santa cruz knows he not respected among the media amd boxing fans

But haymon with his stacked roster could change everything and he been on a good pace ...idc no one asked for portervsbroner but it happening

You do realize that PBC did not take any fighters from HBO, don't you? None of Haymon's fighter were on HBO and none of GBP's fighters either until recently. They were all on Showtime. Now that PBC exists, HBO still has great fights and the top production team and broadcasts while PBC is like a high school show, not even college level. The big loser in all of this is Showtime who have absolutely nothing left when it comes to boxing.

Guerrero/Thurman, Garcia/Peterson and Lee/Quillin have been better than anything HBO has provided us this year. in terms of quality matchups. Now, in terms of mismatches, Alvarez/Kirkand and Golovkin/Munroe Jr. are far and away superior to anything PBC have offered.
On paper they should have been better, but in reality Thurman had an easy time with Guerrero and Peterson/Garcia was half running, half Garcia getting served only to find out Garcia won a WIDE decision. They were NOT better than anything HBO has put up. You think puttin lipstick on a pig makes it beautiful, but its still just a pig.
