Chavez Sr. was the same way. People talk about his legendary chin and all that, but he was actually good defensively, in a subtle way that people dont get.
In addition, Chavez Sr key was his waist. It is a marvel to watch

That said, that's what I thought about GGG but I didn't like how easy Monroe found him in the middle of the ring, even snapped his head back. So he's no Chavez Sr even if his D is underrated

GGG should whip Lemieux fairly easily I would think. Lemieux has a punchers chance of course, but he is basically a one armed fighter. He also has a questionable chin.

Well said. And even then, when he gives you a target you still aren't going to land much more than 30%. If GGG's defense is bad then most fighters flat out don't even have a defense.

Bingo! I do not understand why so few people are able to see that.

I think GGG eats Lemmy for lunch. He telegraphs all his big shots and would have trouble hitting GGG with a clean one. N'Dam was able to hit Lemmy clean a few times and GGG should have no trouble finding his chin.

What I would like to see, just for the fun of it, would be GGG against N'Dam. I want to see if ANYONE can knock this guy down for the count. I was watching the fight with a few friends tonight and he reminded all of us of those blow up punching bag clowns we all had as kids. No matter how hard you hit the damn thing, it would just pop right back up. N'Dam is like that. Knock him down and he's right back up and he's right back in to the action, too! He's not staggering around trying to figure out where he is. He just jumps right back into it. The guy has my total respect for his resilience and courage in the ring.

Hopefully we see Lemmy against GGG soon because I have a feeling that a number of other fighters could beat him. He is very sloppy in the ring, relatively easy to hit, and can't cut the ring off worth shit. He was chasing all night. But he did show good stamina and made it to the end with no trouble. It would be a good fight for as long as it lasted.

If you listen to GGG interview he pretty clearly stated that he Carried Monroe and took the shots to give the fans a show, which I personally believe, given how he dominated Monroe in the 1st and could have easily stopped him, and then dominated him again once he chose to finish the fight. The only rounds he was getting touched were rounds when he was pretty obviously carrying Monroe, and not throwing anything of meaning back at him, and leaving himself open... also against a guy with 30% KO's... I am sure once he felt how little punch he had, he didnt really mind giving the fans a show.

He leaves himself wide open at times when he knows that his opponent could not hurt him with a baseball bat. He takes the first couple of rounds to evaluate his opponent's power and fights accordingly. To date, I do not believe he has encountered any fighter who has been able to stun him in the slightest. People who think he fights the same against everyone really need to watch his fights back to back and see the differences if they have the ability and the skill to do so.

If you are not able to see this for yourself, it's really no biggie. Just sit back and enjoy the fights anyways. You will still think he has a lousy defense and think his opponents are terrible. And GGG will go on winning.

Id like to see that as well, because outside of his resiliency, Ndam is one hell of a skilled operator in the ring. He would actually probably be the most talented fighter GGG has been in the ring with, in addition to having the biggest balls of anyone walking the planet.

I'd like to see Jacobs/N'Dam soon.

As for GGG/Lemieux, I think it'll be an entertaining massacre.
