Cotto doesn't have to fight GGG, he's not in boxing to do charity work for other boxers, or help out foreign fighters make a name for themselves off of him. That's my opinion on that...then Cotto went ahead and signs a fight with Geale which leaves me no choice but to shake my head and say that's indefensible. I can't defend that. But I still rather see Canelo vs Cotto before either guy fights GGG.

It's pretty obvious man. He said in the interview he would drop the belt if he has to. He showed us by fighting Geale next when GGG was available.

It doesn't matter though, because he won't fight Golovkin, either the WBC will allow the Cotto vs Canelo fight or the WBC won't allow it and Cotto will still fight Canelo next. Regardless, Canelo will most likely beat Cotto and that will be that. Canelo vs GGG will happen in 2016.

There are actually facts though about guys not fighting Golovkin, so we can't simply blame Golovkin for a lack of names on his resume.

Sturn - Golovkin was mandatory for two years, Sturm wouldn't have it. His own manager said they paid 750k to the WBA not to fight golovkin lol.

N'dam - was ordered to fight Golovkin TWO seperate times and both times he didn't even bother with the purse bid, losing whatever elimination/mandatory spot he had.

Martinez - obviously chose the money fight in Cotto over Golovkin.

Cotto - obviously chose the money fight in Geale over Golovkin...oh wait!

Chavez jr - pulled out last year.

Dmity Pirog - pulled out due to back injury (sadly career ending it looks like).

And I'm not going to get into the whole Haymon/Quillin/Jacobs stuff, I'm just talking about facts here.

So it's not as if Golovkin hasn't tried here, he has, as shown by the above names. It's been tough to get the big, solid names thus far.

          • Open negotiations for Froch. I'm gonna shut up now. This is exactly what I wanted from GGG.

            • I find dudes who bandwagon on boxers who currently APPEAR invincible to be suspect "fans" of boxing. Guys like Natas, who perhaps wrestle with impotence in real life, place their sense of worth, on the backs of seemingly heroic men like GGG.

To chumps like Natas, it seems like a SAFE/ no lose proposition to root for alleged killers like GGG. I wonder though, what becomes of this punk when GGG gets Jeff Lacy'd?

****in poser fans... "War GGG doe" "War Matty" Overnight love stories should never cause you to disrespect fighters who have been in the mix and paid their dues with REAL resumes.

              "War Triple G doe!"

And yet, you throat GGG on the daily even though GGG is on record saying the $$$ is not there yet for Ward bout, while wondering why the little fighters he is busy calling out, are not jumping on his non money bringin ass just yet..." You simple bastard.

Maybe, maybe not. He got a voluntary and he's taking it. He's said GGG is an option, Canelo just got to say it on HBO. Cotto will get his chance in 2 weeks. Until then, I'm just going by his previous actions. Cotto's fought everyone and never ducked anyone, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as I'm giving it to Canelo as well.

The bet you made for example, of a lifetime bet, is assuming that Cotto beats Geale and that Cotto beats Canelo. One fight hasn't happened and the other hasn't been made, I don't bet like that. Assuming Cotto wins those two fights, we'll revisit and see if something in my opinion of Cotto changes. I wouldn't be surprised if he ducked GGG don't get it twisted, I don't see why he would though. Aside from Floyd (and I don't think he's getting a rematch now) GGG is his next best money fight and Cotto goes where the money takes him.

What does that have to do with his fans? For some reason if I mention he should move up to 168 it's to avoid Cotto. Seriously, that's such a ****** way of looking at it. I want to see a guy tested, I acknowledge GGG's bad assness without the resume. People **** on all his wins, I think the Geale and Murray win were solid wins.

We can go back and dig up all my Rigo posts and see me saying the SAME exact **** about a guy who can't get fights. If you b*tch about not getting fights, you have to deal with it, life is just not fair. I can't make Cotto get into the ring with GGG or any fighter for that matter. But, GGG is more than happy fighting easy fights in the meantime, that's okay with you because you want him to unify. Great, you take higher stock in that than I do.

To me, moving up in weight when you beat the **** out of everyone at MW, is simply more impressive than beating up guys who are moving UP to MW. He's doing this AFTER clearing the MW division (or what he can anyway...) If you want to slurp his c*ck for what he's doing that's on you, beating the snot out of Cotto isn't going to impress me like beating Froch would. I know who wins in GGG vs Cotto and how he wins. GGG/Froch is a different matter, that's what I want to see as a boxing fan which is more important to me than being a Cotto fan.

                    • @ Natas - Oh and about the money and Geale... Cotto's always taken tune ups. He turned down Manny over 4 pounds after the Floyd fight to fight Trout... Geale is not a tune-up it's a tough fight, but one that he should win as he's the better fighter though he's undersized.
