This match-up has been discussed ad nauseam.

GGG-HBO, Lara-Haymon/PBC. They are on two different sides of the electric fence, hence it won't happen. Don't be fooled by what the fighters say or Loeffler's prior experiences with Haymon. Just look at who 3G and Lara are fighting next, opponents that don't deserve to be standing in the same ring with them.

In turn, this is what GGG fans say about Cotto's stance on GGG bringing nothing to the table:
Actually Cotto says nothing at all about GGG. He's afraid to even utter his name. Cotto is so gutless he wouldn't even make it as a NY taxi driver.

I don't get why you think GGG fans are so against it as if they're a monolithic hive mind. Some of them would quite like to see it.

As for those who dont want to see it I could hazard a few guesses..

Firstly, while it would probably boost his career it'll probably lead to accusations that Golovkin is picking on smaller guys especially from those currently accusing GGG of ducking Lara. A true fanboy can easily spin that around and say Lara's not worthy and too small for a shot at the lineal champion-in-waiting. It's harder to spin accusations of fighting bums from lower weight divisions. True fan boys live through their chosen boxers. Criticism of Golovkin is criticism of them.

Secondly, there's just pure contrarianism. Lara seems to be the weapon of choice this week for all the Golovkin haters out there to attack them with. It makes sense to the fan boys to reject it just because the haters are pushing for it. It's not about the fighters. It's simple tribalism.

The objective can see that any fight between Lara and Golovkin is out of either of their hands. It's down to HBO and Haymon.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jacobs and Quillin vs GGG either, but I would not bother bringing either fight up because I know there is not a chance in hell of those fights ever being made because of the political situation in the sport. Might as well discuss Leonard - Hagler 2 or Leonard - Mayweather or Duran - Mayweather. All of those fights have just as much chance of happening.

Anyone want to discuss Ward v Stevenson or Beterbiev for a change?

Anyway, I want to see the fight. 2 prime amateur standouts with good skills and experience. Neither guy can land a fight so match them up.

Maybe you should write a letter to Haymon asking him to get the fight done. Remember to start it with 'Thank you Al Haymon' and to finish it the same way or it will be immediately thrown in the garbage. A few 'Al Haymon is the savior of boxing' sprinkled around the letter would be helpful.

I want Lara/Andrade more than Lara/GGG because Boo Boo desperately needs an opponent who will legitimize him. He's been out for a year which is inexcusable for a young fighter. Andrade might fight Trout next, but he's on the same level as Vanes, whereas I have Lara above them. Boo Boo needs Lara on his resume.

Erislandy Lara has called out GGG before he picked Monroe.Canelo and Cotto might not want to fight him but Lara will . Hopefully after he beats Monroe he will take on a real fighter.
Some of you may hate on Lara saying he runs but no matter what he'll fight anyone and wants to compete with nothing but the best doesn't duck anyone like these so called champions today
