Bute is a seriously shot and tenative fighter. Ever since losing to Froch, he hasn't put in a single impressive performance. He just fights with almost no confidence anymore.

But, still a good fight for Chavez Jr. both are about on the same level I'd say.

I agree that Froch broke Bute but he has only fought twice since Froch. With that said he still has something Junior will never have and that is actual boxing skills. For all we know Fonfara may have also broken Junior. So you will have one broken fighter with some actual skills and one possibly broken face first brawler with no actual skills. So I will stand by what I said, if Bute doesn't fight Junior as if he is waiting to get knocked out, tentative, I give him an excellent chance to beat Junior.

Macklin used to be a high level fighter, big hearted and always in good action bouts, including some thrillers, but he just doesn't have it any more. He's shot. That, of course, makes him the perfect rehab foe for Junior who - for reasons beyond his ability - is a serious attraction in the States, a fact which would guarantee Mack one last fat purse. And who could begrudge Mack the pension cheque even though he really should have hung 'em up already.

I would like to see Chavez, Jr vs. Bute. That'd be an interesting fight at 168lbs, both got pounded by Light Heavyweights.

Bute's people should be busting their balls trying to make this. It'd sell well despite where they are in their careers and if there's an type of opponent Bute can still beat it's someone who is aggressive, defensively flawed, smaller, and has no power at the weight.
