Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32KOs) is hungry to return strong after last month ninth round TKO defeat to Andrzej Fonfara, which took place at a light heavyweight catch-weight of 172-pounds.
Chavez admits he made a mistake by going up that high in weight against a top opponent like Fonfara. He now plans to return at the super middleweight limit, or even lower. Chavez says that he stayed in gym since the loss and is already at 175-pounds, stating that he won't have an issues making 168.
The two opponents being looked at are Lucian Bute (31-2 and 24 knockouts) and Matthew Macklin (32-6 and 21 knockouts), with Sebastian Heiland as the third person being considered.
