Boxing and moving has always been part of the sport. Great fighters learn how to cut off the ring and find proper angles to attack. If guys HBO is mass marketing like Manny and GGG can't do this, that doesn't mean we prevent boxers from getting opportunities against them. They should keep being put in with boxers until they learn the skills needed to beat them.

Great fighters learn all the skills necessary to win against any opponent and any style.
The fight is actually a mismatch, knocking out Lara a fragile 154 pounder isn't going to prove he's great. Like you said if Golovkin were to move up in weight and lost to Ward people would say he was too small. Same logic applies to Lara, he only lost cuz he's small. So of course the biggest puncher and by far best middleweight in the world would crush Lara, and then what? I guess its a name on his resume and that's the only reason why this fight would make any sense. I want to see it just to show the naysayers wrong that Lara could not hang with the best at 160 (which is very few people in reality).

I'd also love to see Haymon actually give some freedom to his fighters and allow them the opportunity to fight on HBO. I mean it would be a huge opportunity for Lara here. I'm pretty sure that won't ever be the case though but we'll see. So far it seems like all talk from DeCubas but no action.

The more talk there is, the more people are buying into it. Lara's actually becoming an opponent Golovkin could shut people up by knocking out. And I have little doubt he would.

Bingo. Bingo. I got bingo over here.

If a fighters objective main objective is to make someone else look bad and stink the place out in the process by limiting the action and retreating for the majority of the fight, then its not something that I care to see whether GGG were to win or lose.
Your first paragraph is contradicted by the 2nd. Lara's best chance to win is by making GGG look bad. GGG needs to overcome that or lose either the match or his reputation.

Lara doesn't control how often GGG throws punches. If he chooses not to throw, its because he doesn't want to get countered and lose. He should continue to punch as he usually does and find a way to win.

Besides, when a brawler is facing an elite boxer, you have often posted how they should make the fight a dirty brawl and do things necessary to win the fight. Why would you ask different for the boxer?

Boxing isn't an MC, its what the sport is called and what those who excel at it do.

If you are a true fan of hip hop, you should like and respect the art form even if you do not like every artist in the genre.

Twitter could shut Lara up by simply cancelling the little turd's account. Not that difficult. How about Lara get his people to send a solid offer to fight GGG on HBO over to GGG's people or to HBO directly instead of tweeting like a twelve year old.

Mayweather for example moves, he doesn't run.
Lomachenko moves he doesn't run. Sergio moved but didn't run.
Winky Wright would move and not run.

Lara however runs. I have no I interest in watching that. There might be some who do (mostly Cuban fans) but most don't.

And they do get opportunities. Lara had opportunities as headliner against Vanes, he laid an egg. Big Ppv opportunity against Nelo laid an egg.
              He's had his chance.
Canelo laid a far worse egg against Floyd dude.

              I don't think its running.

I think GGG and other modern fighters need to learn how to do the things necessary to defeat all opponents.

              • Monroe is a tuneup for Lara. This fight will happen.

Haymon has no other options for Lara.

And In the process of trying to make GGG look bad, he makes himself look bad from an entertainment standpoint and takes the life out of the fight because in order to make GGG look bad he will need to avoid engaging and make GGG chase him around the ring while he runs.

Not my cup of tea but hey, different strokes for different folks.

Your opinion is fine, but it could be wrong. GGG is no different than any other fighter-prove you can beat any style by doing it in the ring.

Given that GGG can't find any quality opponents to fight him, It doesn't make sense to not fight Lara. If he had quality MW's wanting to fight him, well then you'd have a more valid point IMO.

I think you mean you'd love HBO to change their stance and let Haymon fighters fight on the network and not have a policy of letting them fight on HBO "only if the price is right".
Lara is a very affordable opponent so it shouldn't be an issue either way.

The difference is GGG is good enough to deal with fighters like this. He dealt with this style during his extensive amateur career which Canelo doesn't have.

It won't be a boring fight. In fact its a great clash of styles.
